Pudge Controls the Weather-A Land and Sea TR Apr 6-Apr 15 ( Last Day new 5/26)

I think it's great that your son was having such a great time at the club! I would worry that my kids would be bored after going to the club, but they will probably be the same as him:goodvibes
(oh, love the socks! I wish my hubby would wear those!)

We had to make him spend time with us !! He enjoyed his independence so much. The wave phones they have on the ship really helped us keep in touch.

Yes, I was surprised that DH bought those, but happy at the same time. Maybe they were the only option. But he wore them a couple of times.

Awww that's really nice that DS enjoyed the club so much! But family time is definitely important too! :thumbsup2

Love the socks DH got! I'll admit, I laughed when I saw the photo...we've had to buy Disney socks before too!

It really was nice that he had buddies to play with and do kid stuff with.

He had block socks in all of the stuff we took to the parks, but somehow they didn't make their way into the baggage we took on the ship. I thought it was cute he bought those for himself.

I was wondering when your DS would hang out with yall again!

Villains Tonight looks fun! Those are gorgeous pictures of the evening sky and the ocean. So pretty!

I was wondering the same thing. :lmao:

It was a fun show. We enjoyed all of the shows on the ship. They really keep you entertained. Seriously, if you are bored, it is your own fault.

Your DH's new socks are awesome! :thumbsup2

Man, the kids clubs sound so cool, I don't know if I would have wanted to leave either. :lmao:

I like them too !! I need some now ....

They kept those kids busy. My kids had a great time. Loved it.

I know. There really hasn't been a show like it since. I am bereft of good TV after that show went off the air. It grabbed you from the very beginning !! I miss Jack and Kate and Sawyer and Hurley ..... I could go on and on. LOVED that show.

Hey what about Mad Men? Well, in all fairness it has just started back after a really long break. I'm hoping more the LOST actors will show up on OUAT. I really would like to see an episode w/ Josh Holloway. Aladdin perhaps....

Gotta say that towel ninja-thingy was very cool and bit creepy just hanging there.

Your DD cracks me up...hamster..LOL! Such a funny girl!

Okay, fireworks on deck. Super cool. I believe even with my completely irrational fear, I would be up on deck in the dark, in the middle of the ocean, with no land in sight for fireworks. How wonderful you found such a great spot to view them!

I forsee much begging to go off in the parks alone in your future. :rotfl: Maybe not..my DD would be all about ditching mom on cruise if she had other kids to hang out with, but I don't think she'd be keen on walking around the parks alone. She'd definitely want a friend to pal around with. Not sure how'd I feel about that. Bless her heart, she ought to know those parks like the back of her hand, but she isn't the most observant child and has NO sense of direction.

Looks like Palo also has an unfortunate chandelier choice like Pink. Hmmm, maybe those Aladdin urban legends are true???

I think Mickey has set the hook and has reeled your DH in. ;) That is awesome! Just remember if you can't use all your DVC points with all this cruising in your future, I'm here for you to make sure they don't go to waste. I know...I'm such a selfless friend. :rotfl2: :rotfl::lmao:

Mad Men doesn't seem as good this year. I dunno.

It would be nice to see some Sawyer again.

I like the towel thingy.

For someone that is completely freaked out by the open water thing, it seems like maybe a cruise might not be your thing. We did have a great spot

I could see my kids going off with your DD. They know the parks as well as she does. I can see this happening in a few years.

Yes, same unfortunate chandelier. Not sure what you mean by that Aladdin reference ??

I love that DH is into it now. We don't have any trouble using our points that is for sure. We had to schedule another trip in September because we needed to use up our RCI points. Use 'em or lose 'em. It's a hardship for sure. You will be the first person I call if I need any help with that, though.

Day 8 – Part Three

So we all met back at the room and headed to Animator’s Palate.

DSC03089.jpg

For appetizers DH ordered - Wild Mushroom Risotto and Porcini Twist - served with Parmigiano-Reggiano

DSC03086.jpg

I ordered - Black Truffle Pasta Pursettes - pasta purse filled with truffle scented cheese and coated with a delicate champagne sauce

DSC03087.jpg

These were very good.

DD ordered the kid’s pizza

DSC03088.jpg

She enjoyed it. Said it was good.

For the next course, DH and I both ordered - Baked Potato and Cheddar Cheese Soup with bacon bits and chives

DSC03091.jpg

This was very tasty. We both liked it a lot.

For our entrée, DH ordered - White Shrimp Pennette Pasta tossed with a basil and Reggiano Parmesan cheese sauce and topped with a parmesan cheese wafer

DSC03092.jpg

DS ordered – Marinated Angus Beef Tenderloin carved to order on wasabi mashed potatoes with bok choy and a tamarind-barbecue reduction

DSC03093.jpg

He ate all of the beef portion and the carrots, but I remember him saying the potatoes were “different”. After he was done, he and his buddy next to him were off to the club.

For my entrée I ordered - Grilled Pacific Black Cod with sauteed morel mushrooms on a yellow split pea puree

DSC03094.jpg

It was good. After the heavy appetizer and soup, this was nice and light. Not too heavy. Just right.

For dessert, Dh had - Sweet Temptations - a trio of crunchy walnut cake, pineapple financier, and lemon mousse.

DSC03097.jpg

He really enjoyed this and I liked the lemon mousse. Yummy !!

I ordered - Chocolate Brownie Cheesecake with whipped cream and raspberry coulis

DSC03096.jpg

Yum, yum, yum. Cheesecake and chocolate – you can’t lose.

DD ordered - Dense Chocolate Cake - brownie, caramel sauce and whipped cream

DSC03098.jpg

Fantastic meal. We very much enjoyed this meal and all of the dinners we had on the ship. Such wonderful meals and experiences.

Glad you were able to get DS to stick around through the entree! :rotfl: Everything looks so good! And your family pictures are really nice!! :goodvibes

Also, a pillow case that DD made at her pajama party.

DSC03058.jpg

omg, my baby girl is sleeping on that very pillow case right now! (only not so neatly colored, she is only 5 after all). Our kids partied together and we didn't even know it!

Seriously, we just dropped her off at club after supper, and when we picked her up, she was all bummed that she didn't have her pajamas on for the pajama party (but said she had fun anyway)

CRUSH! That's awesome. The food looks great (especially the dessert)! And lovely family pictures. :goodvibes

For realz. He didn't even want dessert. Just took off back to his club.

DD was all about making it to the Pajama party. That is awesome that they were there together. Mine sleeps with hers every night. Loves it.

Wow, that dinner sounds like it was great. :thumbsup2

All of the food was amazing. We so enjoyed it so much.

Food was awesome for sure. Thanks. I wish we had taken more photos. Next time.

Day 8 – Part Four

After dinner we all went back to the room

DSC03099.jpg

And we watched the Incredibles until everyone fell asleep. We were coming into some very windy weather and the captain was trying VERY hard to get us docked at Castaway Cay that night and the boat was rumbling bit time with the thrusters. But he just couldn’t do it safely, so he pulled out and we hoped to be able to dock in the morning.

More Fish Extender gifts.

Castaway Cay – Day 2

Day 9 – Part One

Our last full day (waaaahhhhh!!!) We woke up about 8 AM and we could feel the boat docking. We looked out and sure enough, it looked like we were going to be able to make it in to Castaway Cay.

Our navigator for the day.

It was a little cooler and very windy on this day. But still it was a beautiful day. Just lovely. The kids didn’t want to get up so DH and I decided to go to Royal Palace for breakfast.

It was really nice to sit down for breakfast and order off a menu.

The waiter came to get our drink order which was coffee of course. DH had some juice. We were offered pastries and I was almost demanded to order a fruit plate. “You,” he said, “ You must have some fruit.” Okaaayyyy. So apparently I looked like I had the early stages of scurvy ?? I dunno.

DSC03104.jpg

It was good and fresh.

DH got some yogurt.

DSC03105.jpg

He said it tasted good, but was weirdly thin. More like a smoothie, he said.

For our entrée - DH and I both ordered - Express - Scrambled eggs, grilled ham, bacon, sausage. and hash browns

DSC03106.jpg

The eggs were a tiny bit better, but still not great. I am not sure why I kept ordering them. Wishful thinking, I guess.

Valance detail.

DSC03107.jpg

After breakfast, we ran up to Cabanas to get a some breakfast for the kids to take back to the room. We drug them out of bed and got ready and headed off the boat to Castaway Cay.

We got our rented floats and parked on the beach.

Ahhh yes.

This was a play structure that they wouldn’t let the kids play on until the tide was higher.

It was windy, but gorgeous. Several activities for the day had been cancelled because of the wind. DH took the kids out to the water to swim while I read a magazine and enjoyed the view. We stayed for a couple of hours and then went over to Cookies BBQ to get some lunch.
