Pudge Controls the Weather-A Land and Sea TR Apr 6-Apr 15 ( Last Day new 5/26)

That Mater shirt is awesome! I'm going to have to get that for Joaquin for sure.

Can't wait to hear about 50's PTC. One of my favorite places to eat.

It really is a great shirt. We really loved 50's Prime Time. More food porn coming up !!

Thanks for posting your review. We just got back from our trip on the Dream (our first time, we LOVED it!!!!!), and post Cruise we drove over to Disney World for a few days. We stayed at the Polynesian because that was the only place that still had decent enough room rates (for staying on the resort of course) and we were pretty disappointed with it. Next time I know where I want to stay , AKL!!! Your photos won me over! Looks so cool and NEW and clean and fab fixtures!!!!!:goodvibes

:welcome: The Dream was the absolute Bomb-Diggity !!!

I have never stayed at the Poly, but I have heard it is a little "worn". I would suggest renting DVC points next time you go. It is cheaper and you have a much better room with a kitchen, etc. We did this last year before we bought into DVC and we loved it.

Day 4 – Part Four

And we arrived right on time for our 50’s Prime Time ADR.

DSC02466.jpg

DSC02467.jpg

We saw kyirish and her family getting ready to be seated. We briefly shared our excitement for the following day when we would be boarding the Disney Dream. As we were waiting to be seated, there was a man at the front trying to get a table for ten. At noon. During Spring Break. Seriously, dude ?? You ARE clueless. Way to plan ahead, guys. And the hostess was doing her best to tell him this politely and even offered to call around and see if she could find him a table. Anywho, I’m glad we had a reservation.

A hidden Mickey

DSC02468.jpg

A really old TV. Or a decoration that looks like one.

DSC02469.jpg

We could see this TV from where we were sitting.

DSC02470.jpg

We had a really fun waiter. He yelled at the kids for putting their elbows on the table and not saying “may I”. DD got a little stressed by it, but we told her it was just for fun and not to worry about it. He was in character but not over the top. Really fun. He was great with keeping our drinks filled, etc. He told me if I had another Diet Coke, I would need rubber sheets. LOL. I was thirsty. What can I say ??

Again, sharing was not a problem at all what so ever.

For starters we ordered Beer Battered Onion Rings for Two - served with Horseradish sauce.

DSC02473.jpg

These were very good and didn’t last long since all four of us love onion rings.

So DH and I shared - A Sampling of Mom's Favorite Recipes - Crispy-fried Chicken, Fork Tender Pot Roast, and Traditional Meatloaf with all the fixings.

DSC02471.jpg

This was really good. DH and I just love this kind of old home cookin’ food. Very tasty. But it was a TON of food and even after splitting it, we were full.

DS ordered - Aunt Liz's Golden Fried Chicken - served with mashed potatoes, chicken gravy and southern greens. We switched the greens out for green beans and the waiter asked if he wanted fries instead of the potatoes and of course DS went for that.

DSC02472.jpg

Very tasty. We had the friend chicken in our entrée, so we tasted it. Super yummy !!

DD ordered – Macaroni and Cheese and French Fries.

DSC02474.jpg

It must have been good because she ate it all. I am pretty sure thee only three things she ate on our trip were, chicken nuggets, mac and cheese and pizza. Yeah – real healthy. But we were on vacation, so whatever.

For dessert DH and I split - Dad's Brownie Sundae - Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream, Hot Fudge, and Caramel topping

DSC02475.jpg

Chocolatey, ice cream-y yumminess. Good stuff. DS had one, too.

DD had the kid’s sundae.

DSC02476.jpg

More 50’s décor.

DSC02477.jpg

Love the Disney brand TV. Please tell me this is a man in a wig – yikes !!

After lunch, we decided to head out.

DSC02478.jpg

We cruised the shops on the way out, but didn’t buy anything.

DSC02479.jpg

My silly DD.

And DS from earlier in the day.

And since there are several people waiting patiently for the DREAM part of this TR, the last part of Day 4.

Day 4 – Part Five

So back at the resort, DD takes more animal photos. They were all right out there, doing their animal business. We enjoyed looking at them.

DSC02485.jpg

DSC02491.jpg

DSC02498.jpg

We headed to the pool again. This time without the camera. DH came with us and we all rode the slide, which was fun. We staked out a good spot and hung out for a couple of hours.

DD won another bunny playing pool games.

DSC02501.jpg

We headed back to the room and did some laundry and started getting thing packed up. The next day we were boarding the Disney Dream and we were beyond excited.

The kids discovered the animals in the curtains and took some photos.

DSC02550.jpg

DSC02565.jpg

She took about 50 more, but I won’t bore you with them.

We went to dinner at Boma

BOMA_1_998.jpg

I try not to take buffet food photos because they are really just glops of food on a plate and not very appetizing. I wasn’t wowed by the food there, but I didn’t hate it either. It was just OK. Plus, we were just exhausted. Service was good, and we got plenty to eat, we just weren’t excited about it. We had two snack credits to burn so the kids got some candy at the gift shop and we headed back to get everything washed, folded and packed up for the next VERY exciting day.

Hahahah, we literally got the exact same meal, right down to the fact that we both split and the dessert. Too funny! Wasn't it so good?! I should have split that dessert as well, it was too big! So good though!

I never get tired of seeing the animal photos either! Can't believe it's already time in the TR to board the Dream! I must give you credit for doing your TR so fast! :worship: I'm too wordy to go this fast :rotfl: but it's nice having a new update every day!

We so did !! That dessert WAS huge. You see ??? Sharing is a good thing.

We loved seeing the animals every day. Psst - don't tell anyone, but I already have all 10 days typed out in Word. So I just try to post one update a day. But some people have mentioned that they are READY for the Dream, so tomorrow we start on the Sea portion of the trip. Good stuff.

I am ready for the Dream review!!!!!! :cool1::thumbsup2

I have been patiently waiting. :yay::yay:

Well, maybe not!

Your meal at 50's Prime Time looks great! That meal definitely looks big enough to share!!

I love the little animals in the curtains! Disney detail at its finest! :thumbsup2

I just read all of your trip posts. I am really enjoying your report. My dd is 9 as well. I'm looking forward to the Disney Dream portion. We are booked on the dream for July of next year. I wanted the 5 night one where they go to Cast Away Cay twice, but they don't have them anymore, so we're doing a 4 night. I'm trying to decide on whether to add WDW time on to our cruise or Sea World. We're doing WDW for 10 days in a couple of months, but I know a lot more of Fantasy Land will be done next summer.

That meal was huge. I don't see how one person could eat it all.

Yes, DD especially loved those curtains.

Thanks so much for reading and stopping to say hello.

Dream posts begin in a few minutes :) You will LOVE the Dream. I guess since now that the Fantasy is stopping at Castaway Cay, that they can't do the double dips anymore. We were glad to have done it. I can't wait until Fantasyland is all finished.

Day 5 – Part One – Boarding the Dream

The day we board the Disney Dream. The day we have been waiting for almost two years. Since we didn’t have to be at the terminal until 11:00 AM, we slept in a bit and then packed up the car and headed over to Jambo House to use our last four counter service credits for breakfast.

I left the camera in the car and didn’t get food pictures, but DH had the bounty platter, I had the croissant sandwich (which I really liked, by the way) and DD and DS got Mickey waffles. Your basic breakfast stuff. It was good and filling.
We got back to the car and with great excitement headed towards Port Canaveral. And with this piece of information, we conclude our LAND portion of this TR and move onto the SEA portion. Very exciting.

DSC02581.jpg

There was much moaning from DH about all of the toll booths. We spent about $ 3.75 or so on tolls, but we were ready for it with a bag full of quarters. Reading on the DIS helped us with this info.

After about an hour we got our first glimpse for the Dream

DSC02589.jpg

The kids screamed from the back seat. They were so excited.

DSC02590.jpg

DSC02591.jpg

We pulled into the drop off area and gave our checked bags to the porter there.

DSC02592.jpg

We parked on the third floor of the parking garage.

DSC02593.jpg

We grabbed our carry-on bags (we had two) and headed in to the terminal.

DSC02594.jpg

DSC02595.jpg

We checked in with no problems and received boarding number 13

boardingnumber.jpg

Which I was happy with. I knew we wouldn’t wait long for that. DH took photos while I checked DD in for her kid’s club. DS was old enough not to have to be registered, so he hung out with DH.

DSC02596.jpg

DSC02597.jpg

DSC02598.jpg

As we were in line for DD’s check-in, I heard them start calling numbers for groups to board. We were so excited. We got DD’s wristband for her club and went to find the boys. I knew it would be a few more minutes, so we watched Dumbo on one of the TVs they had while we waited. It didn’t take long and they called our number.

They took our photo right before boarding. I didn’t get a copy, it wasn’t that great.

DSC02600.jpg

There was a slight wait as they announced everyone’s names and clapped.

DSC02601.jpg

I was trying to roll a carry on and take photos at the same time.

And finally, we were aboard. The Atrium chandelier

DSC02609.jpg

Once we got on board, it was about 11:30 AM or so. And we had no idea what to do. So we found a spot off to the side and consulted our map like the newbies that we were.

The front

And the back.

We decided that we would eat lunch at the Enchanted Garden, but it wasn’t open until noon, so we did some aimless wandering and photo taking.

The lunch was a buffet and the food was OK. We were glad we got there early because the line got really long. Lunch was quiet, though and we enjoyed it.

Then we went back up on deck 11 (Enchanted Garden was on deck 2) to look around.

Okay...I'm all caught up. I don't have time to comment on everything up to this point (but I should be able to comment regularly now that I am caught up on all my subscribed threads).

LOVE LOVE LOVE Kidani. And I'm with you -- giraffes are beautiful and I could watch them all day (we had lots of giraffes when we were there in September and I didn't want to leave my balcony). We hope to stay there again in May 2013 for our 30th wedding anniversary (I'm saving now).

Great day at the parks....love the flower and garden photos; I really want to go for that next year.

You are on the boat. How exciting!

And your kids are adorable. :goodvibes

Yay !! You are all caught up !!

Kidani was amazing and we really loved it. Very comfortable. And of course the giraffes every day. Made me so happy.

Yes, finally on the boat.

Thanks. They got all of the good genes !!

Great updates! I hope my kids love the Edge as much as your DS did!

We had to MAKE him come spend time with us, he loved it there so much. Make sure you learn how to use the wave phones so you can keep in touch. The wave phones were invaluable to us. Whenever we wanted to check in with him, we just texted or called and he got right back to us. So we felt good about him being on his own.

I would have screamed when I saw the Dream too! So absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to go on my first cruise.
