PTR- Our first disney vacation without the grandparents

we are a family of three and have been to wdw countless times. This will be our three year old`s 5th trip to wdw. However, this will be the first trip with only myself, my husband and our three year old son (Evan) who will be 4 by the time we go to Disney in September. We all love having family with us but are looking forward to this special trip. here is what we have planned-

my husband jonathan - not as disney crazy as the rest of the family, we will work on that this time

where are we staying?

When I was a kid we always stayed at the polynesian until my grandparents bought into the vacation club in the early 90s. I still love the polynesian and stay there whenever we have the opportunity and are not using points.

we are planning a relaxed trip with several pool days and lots of eating! we will also go to the halloween party......a first for all three! very excited!!

we have the dining plan on the reservation right now, however I am beginning to question that choice. we are staying cl and i dont know if I see us eating a qs,ts and a snack on top of the cl offerings. ideally we would eat lunch at a ts or qs each day and stick to the cl offerings the rest of the time. that still seems like a lot of food. the dining plan will cost about 700 for 5 nights and i dont really see the value for us. although i do like being forced to use up those snack credits.....especially on dole whips right there at the resort

so what do you think? any reason to keep the dining plan that i am overlooking?
