PTR for the planning obsessed....Updated 11/5 We're home now.

BINGO! Got Hollywood & Vine for Wednesday at 11:45 am....only 5 minutes off the target. My binder tells me that tomorrow I try for Whispering Caynon Cafe for breakfast (that will be easy) and 'Ohana's for dinner!

OT: Did anyone see Bret Michaels on "Don't Forget the Lyrics" last night? He wasn't wearing a sparkle headband...I was so disappointed!

Yeay! Have you eaten at WCC before? It looks like a fun place!

I so missed Bret Michaels last night!!! I was watching Grey's and Lost.

Oh and I wanted to mention that our flight on SW has gone from $95 (what I paid) to $110 already. So in Fuzzy Disney Math does that mean I saved $45 that can now be spend at DTD?????

I absolutely think you can spend that "extra" money somewhere at Disney...maybe to stay at OKW.;)

I haven't eaten at WCC yet...I thought breakfast would be a good introduction to it....plus it's a great excuse to look around WL again...what a beautiful resort.
Bret was actually not as cheesy last night as he was on his show. You, me and Jen will have to go see him together when he does one of those has-been concerts at Epcot.

Hi! I found your PTR a couple of days ago and just got caught up! :thumbsup2
Welcome and congrats on your upcoming wedding....we got married 6/24/06 so I remember very well what you are going thru right now. Where in Mass are you?

Yes! I knew I could count on a DIS friend to approve my FDM.

Thank you very much! Wedding stress is something else, but the end is worth it. I am in the metrowest area, about 25 minutes from Nashua and 22 miles from Boston. I am originally from Maine and I really miss it! I grew up in Southern Maine so going to visit takes only a little over an hour so I guess it could be worse.

By the way, I loved your son's penguin costume, I too love Mary Poppins!

:rotfl2: That would be so much fun!!! We could all get sparkly bandanas to mark the occasion!

This is probably as exciting as watching paint dry but I have more ADRs to report.

I got up late this morning (9 am) almost forgetting that I needed to call Disney on my 'Ohana's day....Ugh!

I had 2 ADRs to make today for Thursday of our trip. I wanted WCC for breakfast at 8:45am. I got 8:45! Then I wanted 'Ohana's for 6:15pm. Drum roll please........................I got 6:15 pm!!!!!! :wizard:

I watched most of the Royal Disney show on Travel Channel last night....that was one of the better shows I've seen.....I had no idea you could rent the American Adventures building for a party.

I mentioned that I've been using touring plans .com to make my own custom plans....here's a tip if you are using them too....print them out on a laser printer. I have an inkjet at home and the prints weren't every good but when I printed them from work on a laser....WOW....what a difference!

I have a funny read for you today http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1810009
If you love mascots on vacation you'll love this TR.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Anything connected with Disney is better than paint drying!!!

Hurray for OHana's!

I didn't watch the Disney show last night because I was so disappointed with the other two -- figures it would be good. :(

Okay, that TR looks hilarious! I will definitely be returning to read more of it, because anything with a mascot cracks me up -- it must be the Muppet Lover in me!

Great news about today's ADRs. I would much rather hear about your ADRs than watch paint dry! I have actually been looking forward to your post each morning. And you got great times!! I'm thinking of checking out WCC next time we go. I'll be interested in hearing about how your breakfast goes - I've only heard about dinner. We are back to the discussion of whether to go February or April school vacation (our weeks are a week later than most). TGM doesn't have any info about next year yet. I'll have to keep poking around.

We love 'Ohana's ....they took away the Maui potatoes that I loved but added potstickers so it may be a wash. I don't usually make it a habit to eat wings out at restaurants because I'm such a messy eater but I'm all over those stickey chicken wings. YUM!

I don't call again until Tuesday morning....but I have to work...might have to make the call from the car.

I told DH that we were going to WCC for breakfast and I told him it was a skillet breakfast....his reply was yeah so? It's an all you care to eat skillet brought to your table. That changed his excitement level real quick. But he didn't like the ADR time...8:45....too late he says. I want to try to sleep in that morning....which means 'til about 7:30 :confused3 (by the way I'm not changing the ADR....)

sorry, been away for a few days....so caught up with your ADR calling....boy that's rough! calling each day...but if you get that room discount later it will be worth your 10 days of calling now. SUPER :yay: on getting the times you've wanted so far! Our H&V ADR is a 11:45 too, let you know how it goes! when we get back.

I don't remember the rooms be icky when we stayed at CBR back in 94 and 95 but now that is over 10 yrs ago, but like I said my best-crazy Diz friend stayed there for their mickeymoon (1st time) and really enjoyed it, that's where they'll stay agian when they go in a couple years for the 1st time with their little guy.

Question? read you think DS will need bedrails? are you not thinking of using a crib or pack and play? If he's still in a crib at home (granted it's probably bigger and more comfy than the hotel versions) you probably should have him in a crib or p&p there too...JMHO. We've traveled several times over the years with the under 2 crew who still slept in cribs at home, overall I have to say our use of hotel cribs/p&p have been fine. Now this trip to Disney will be the first with 1 under 2. I'll let you know how the sleeping arrangement goes....

Glad the 1st b-day party planning is still moving along. We had part 1 of 2 for the twins 9th b-day this past Sat with the family, now the real party is this coming Sat with 10 of their friends....should be fun!

J-

I want to try Ohana but no one I go with ever seems that interested in going there...:confused3

Congrats on getting your preferred times.....:thumbsup2

As someone else posted, something to report is better than nothing...

I've never not had resort ressies at this point....we'll see how much longer I can hold out.

I'm sure it will be fine...I've just become a hotel snob since we've been staying in nicer places when we don't go to Disney. And I have learned my lesson....I don't bring up the luggage until I've checked out the room in case I want my room changed.

I never even considered getting DS a pack n' play...I figured we have the 2 beds so he could have one....but it's nice that I can get one from mousekeeping if I need to

I need to start making the African hut in the living room for the party!

Next time just make the ADR and surprise 'em!

I needed to make 2 ADRs today, one breakfast and one dinner but I had to work this morning....on the road before 8am. So I never called Disney until about 3pm. Guess no one was rushing to make ressies for breakfast at Kona Cafe and dinner at Captain's Grille because I got the exactly times that I wanted.
Tomorrow I have my final ADR to make for Epcot, this is a back-up ADR because of the Food & Wine festival. Right now we plan to nosh the booths but I don't think it's smart not to have a back-up plan....what if it's pouring out???

we're making a treasure hunt outside at a Marsh for 12 9 yr olds...hope it doesn't rain!

we having our own version of the P&P party....swap party stories later!

glad the ADR's are still coming along fine! :thumbsup2

Isn't it wonderful when you get exactly what you want when you call for ADRs?

I think it is very wise to have a back-up plan for Food and Wine. Just in case and all :).

I made my last ADR this morning for Teppan Edo….at least my last ADR for this round. I see dinning changes in my future….but that’s only natural right?

Yesterday when I called…I dialed the wrong number the first time…changed the last digit from the dinning phone number…I got a recording from the Boardwalk resort about calling in sick…I’m such a Disney dork I called back to hear the message again! It seems that CM’s have a special number to call to leave a message when they are calling out sick or if they will be late.

I have some links for you today to some cool kid’s things I found on the Disney website.

This one is for kid’s park maps….Scrappie-Do I thought of you when I saw them…they might work for your DS.

And this one is for an activity book

I’m still waiting for Disney to publish the November park calendars...ugh!

Disney did finally release the dates for the Soap weekend….lifted from the allearsnet newsletter:
The 13th annual ABC Super Soap Weekend presented by Colgate Total will be held in Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park November 15-16, 2008. No further details have been confirmed as yet. EDITOR’S NOTE: Although this fan event has been held Veteran's Day weekend in the past, all official releases so far indicate that it has been moved this year to the weekend of November 15-16.

And I thought anyone going Labor Day weekend might like to know this: This Labor Day weekend, Walt Disney World will offer a "Royal Quinceanera Weekend", for Hispanic girls celebrating their 15th birthdays. Several special events will be held at Epcot August 29-September 5, including a quinceanera ball on August 30, along with a private viewing of IllumiNations. Packages for the weekend will include stays at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. For more package details, visit www.disneyworld.com/quinceanera

I’m disappointed to be missing the Festival of the Masters! The 33rd annual Festival of the Masters will feature the works of more than 150 visual artists November 7-9, 2008, at Downtown Disney. Event hours are 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Admission and parking are complimentary. For more information, contact 407-824-4321 or visit disneyworld.com/artfestival.

This one made me choke on my white bun hot dog: The Orlando Sentinel reports that the acting U.S. Surgeon General, Rear Adm. Steven K. Galson, presented Walt Disney World with an award today in honor of its efforts to offer more healthful food options for children. For the past two years, Disney has been offering more healthful alternatives to french fries, such as carrots or apple slices. In addition, Disney has been working toward eliminating trans fats from all of its foods, and is committed to reducing calories, fat, sodium and sugar in its offerings of items such as chicken nuggets and ice cream.

Because funnel cake and carrots make a fine meal :confused3

That’s all I have today….I may a have found Disney vacation planning software (for free) to share with you but I want to try to print things out from it before I recommend it.

I started the play hut for the party…looks cool so far…need some brown paint and need to make a sign. I’m calling it “Liam’s Cub House”…little play on words…DH asked me what the pass word for it is…I came up with SIMBA 1….Simba 1…come in Simba 1. Then we started joking about Big Red and Little Red…I wanted to put one of the blow up elephants in the back of our Jeep but we figured no one but my DIS friends would get the joke.

Sunday is Mother’s day….I plan to vacation plan all day and get Chinese take-out and eat left over birthday cake….what are your plans?

In the parting words of the Boardwalk Resort call in sick message....Have a Magical Day! (which by the way I find odd because what's magical about being sick???)

I made my last ADR this morning for Teppan Edo….at least my last ADR for this round. I see dinning changes in my future….but that’s only natural right?
It's not a PTR without ADR / Reservation changes! :lmao:

You should have left message that you wouldn't be in for your shift! :rotfl2:

I'm glad you got everything you wanted.

Can I just say the whole wheat buns are not very good at WDW. Bring back the bad for you white buns.....
