PTR-Cheating on Mickey w/Harry!...OMG! Only a month to go!

I'm guessing food coma!

Nice gooey oooey food there. :thumbsup2 Love the Monte Cristo! But the mac and cheese looks like it is missing something. :rolleyes1

So, I'm all done with the Expo TR and that means I need to get back to this PTR! Not sure what's coming next, but probably an update on our trip to DL on Labor Day, then tomorrow's trip to Napa Rose and then back to WDW. How are we going to fit in all the kiosks in such a short time with so many Special Events planned????????

Stay tuned a see what's in store!

No rush. I'm on holidays for the next 2 weeks.

Enjoy the parental visit!

I am so behind on mine, so don't rush on it, don't make me look bad any more....:rotfl:

So while i'm waiting for you to update (:rolleyes1) here's a pic of us!

I remember your camera wasn't getting any good shots...it was probably because we were in my itty bitty car and it's hard to stretch out in there.

Hope you likey!

I won't make you look bad, I have so much more to report especially once I start quoting all you folks who are there next week! :thumbsup2

I got home last night and have been catching up today with house stuff... Maybe I can post soon.... 9 days until I am at F&W

I read your post today, sorry about the whole boot thingy and your surgery, but perhaps people will take care of you this holiday season! :worship:

So on Labor Day we decided it would great to have a nice lunch at the park. Arline hasn’t really been to Disney anything and since we’re taking her to Florida in May we figure she needs to get to know Disneyland so she’ll have an idea of what she wants to do at Disneyworld.

Here is the new entrance to DCA. Looks just like Hollywood Studios now.

DSCN2440.jpg

Since our lunch wasn’t until 2:00 or 2:30, we had some time to kill. We went on the Jungle Cruise.

DSCN2442.jpg

Saw a $6,000 Zebra

And the backside of Water

DSCN2445.jpg

We did the Tiki room, but didn’t take any pictures of that. Then we headed up for lunch. The way it works is that your entrée is plated, and your starters and desserts are buffet style.

DSCN2446.jpg

Starters

Fruit, a variety of cheeses and Caprese Salad

DSCN2454.jpg

Caesar Salad, not quite sure on the back right, weed salad on the front right, pasta salad.

DSCN2455.jpg

Crab claws, Jumbo Prawns, and Lobster meat in the back. Lemons, cocktail sauce, tartar sauce and the cutest little Tabasco bottles in the front.

DSCN2456.jpg

1st plate: Smoked Salmon, Cream cheese, capers and red onions, 2nd Plate: Cold cuts, olives, cornichons, and marinated onions, 3rd Plate: Marinated Grilled Vegetables

DSCN2457.jpg

This was a Chicken Poblano Soup, a little kick but absolutely wonderful! :lovestruc

DSCN2453.jpg

Breadsticks with olive oil and balsamic vinegar

DSCN2451.jpg

Frans Plates, she was afraid that they would run out of dessert!

DSCN2458.jpg

DSCN2459.jpg

My plate: It seems that I always get the same thing. One each of the shrimp, lobster and crab claw, some Caesar salad, some caprese salad, a few grilled veggies, and a few pieces of salami, some bread with cream cheese, onion and tomatoes. If I like the soup of the day, I always get a thimble full.

DSCN2460.jpg

So based on the fact that I could not even zip up my Dirndl (German Dress) that I ordered for the Oktoberfest, back in the second week of August I started on a low carb, low dairy, low alcohol diet. Evidently this really hit me today because what did I order?

Pasta Three ways: Mushroom Ravioli, Spaghetti with Meatballs and Marinara Sauce, some kind of twisty pasta with pesto and goat cheese. :rotfl2:

DSCN2462.jpg

Fran did give me one of her lamb chops

DSCN2464.jpg

Arline got the Sablefish

DSCN2466.jpg

So this was my pathetic attempt at a Cheese Course

DSCN2467.jpg

[Continued from Previous Post]

OK, so I almost always get three drinks with lunch. White Wine with the first course, Red Wine with the second course and a Chocolate Martini for Dessert. Perhaps some folks might think I’m a lush, :lmao: but when you eat this much food and it takes 2+hours, it really doesn’t effect you!

DSCN2468.jpg

Here is my dessert plate

DSCN2469.jpg

But here is what I have to choose from

So the manager was able to give us instant fast passes for two rides (no star tours or little mermaid) so we picked Big Thunder Mountain and Soarin’, we already had FPs for Indy but it went down before our reservation, so we got in there first. Arline loved it!

Next we went on BTMRR and she loved that too. We decided to try Buzz Lightyear, and while there was a wait, it wasn’t too bad. By this time we decided to wait out for the Mickey’s Soundsational Parade.

After this we went over to DCA to ride Soarin, but I didn’t take any pictures, then we came right back and got in the queue for the fireworks. There were some people in front of us, but they were so nice, they let us go in front of them and turn around our scooters so when the exit from the park took place we were in the right direction!

DSCN2497.jpg

So we watched the fireworks and went over to the new Trader Sam’s Tiki Bar. We called while we were waiting an found out that they were open until 1AM which was good since the fireworks wouldn’t be over until at least 10PM. It took a little bit to find the way over there because there was construction but we all made it and the food offerings were very good.

Fish Tacos - with Grilled Mahi Mahi, Cabbage, and Lime-Tartar Sauce wrapped in Corn Tortillas. $9.99 These were really good we will have these again!

DSCN2507.jpg

Kalua Pork Flatbread - with Pulled Pork, Red Onion, Cilantro, Barbecue Sauce, and Mozzarella. $8.99 We got it without the Cilantro and will definitely order it again.

DSCN2506.jpg

This is the PuPu Platter - Tamarind-glazed Island Pork 'Wings', Sweet and Spicy Asian Wings, Panko-crusted Chinese Long Beans, Green Papaya Slaw, and Sriracha Aioli. $15.99 While we liked everything, the “wings” were pretty spicy. The winner was the Chinese Long Beans. We will order those separately!

DSCN2505.jpg

Ginger's Pear-adise - When you put your hand out for this one be careful...Ginger snaps!-- Pear Vodka, Ginger Liqueur, Organic Agave Nectar, and Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice. Oh yeah! :thumbsup2 going to have another one of these on next Friday!

DSCN2503.jpg

Correct me if I'm wrong, Shrunken Zombie Head - Every time business shrinks for our favorite head salesman he celebrates with one of these supernatural potions. -- Reserve and Aged Rums, Tropical Juices, Falernum, and Cinnamon.

Ha, ha, ha! I didn't tell you how many of the Ginger Martinis I had! :lmao:

Ok Ginger Snaps made me laugh. :rotfl2:

I copied and pasted that bit from allears.net so I was confused until I reread my post! :rotfl2:

So I've got some very confusing news (which really might not even be considered news since really right now it's mostly rumors), in that I don't know what we may be doing for Saturday night dinner at WDW.

September 1st, Cat Cora's father passed away. It seems now that Disney is cancelling her Kitchen Memories segment. There is speculation that they will cancel her signature dinners as well. We are signed up for one of the Signature dinners.

I am considering making an ADR for Raglan Road for that night if any are still available. I've heard nothing but good things about it, and we want to stay out of Epcot on Saturday night. Other options are Fulton's Crab House, Paradisio 37 or Shula's Steakhouse. Decisions, decisions. But I better figure it out fast, I'm about 32 days out now!

My vote Raglan Road.... I have wanted to try it, and heard great things also...
