Pteranodon Flyers - Any Chance of Riding?

My boys LOVE that ride, but they're probably going to be too tall on our next trip - they have mixed emotions because they want to be tall enough for the 'cool' rides, but still want to do this one!! First World problems eh???

The silliest rule ever imposed on a theme park ride. That said, I would have to rent a child.

Last time I was there with my wife she wanted to go on the ride but they wouldn't let her without a qualifying kid so we decided to wait to see if find a single parent with 2 kids or both parents and 3 kids so she could go with one of them.

They were measuring every kid and when we saw the right combination of parents to kids, it turned out that one of the kids didn't qualify.

In the end she gave up and moved on.

So-if we are a family of 4 and my son is over the height limit but my daughter is not-only one of us can ride with my daughter?? Is the line usually long and do express passes qualify because we may spend a good portion of the day there if my DD has to ride 3 times!!

No express passes...again because the ride has such low capacity. I do think that she will get to ride 3 times. I think that is the way they do it, which seems quite counterproductive.

They turned us away in May. Had a height stick at the back of the line CLOSELY measuring each kid that was borderline. Did not give an inch. No fit under the bar, no ride.

Hey there! DS (8) and I will be there on those exact dates as well, staying onsite at Sapphire Falls and doing Early Entry pretty much everyday. He says he would be happy to help your DD out. Send me a PM and we can get in contact one morning!

We just had this discussion at dinner last night. Needless to say DD is quite thrilled with the fact that her short-ness (which usually makes her really offended) will mean that she "has" to ride 3 times (she's our ride-junky). My DS has always been a 95-99%ile height kid and DD is always well under 50% so this turn of events was definitely to her liking. Usually it's a question as to whether or not she's tall enough for something.

DD has been a TM in entertainment at Universal for 5 years now. We are taking the grandkids next year and she is most excited that she will finally be able to ride this! Expect I will have 2 out of 3 small enough to qualify so they will have to take multiple rides to get us all on!!
