PT Cruiser?

I've owned one for 9 years. I have never had a problem with it but there are a lot of reports for problems with these cars.

With rates this low, if you qualify, it doesn't make cents to put any money down on a car.
I have to agree - I just bought a new car. After checking out the used market (since you lose a huge chunk of money the moment you drive a brand new car off the lot), I determined that for $2,000 more than a used car, I could have a brand new car.

That was an easy choice. Financing right now is very good if you can get it.

Oh and don't forget the pt cruiser needs it's timing belt replaced every 90k at around $1,000 for parts and labor. You can't easly replace it at home with out having the AC system evacuated and you will need 2 jacks. Even then it is about a 2 day job with 2 people.

To repair anything is a !@##$ in a PT because their is no room in the engine bay. You can't even see let alone replace the battery without removing the the air intake piping and filter assembly.

I just talked a coworker into to running the math. It figured out it will cost her $500 more for a new Ford Edge then a 2 year old one. She couldn't believe it. She factored in everything based on the manufacture scheduled maintenance.

St think point, I recommend buying new or buying a beater. It is pointless buying a 2-3 year old car. The 2-3 year old ones that are cheap are cheap for a reason.
