PSP and 11 yr olds ?

My son is asking for this but I am wondering if there a lot of good choices of games for his age bracket. He already has a gameboy and lots of games for that. I am not sure if it is worth the investment on getting this system also.

My husband offered to buy my kids one yesterday (I have no clue why he offered) and they all told him no that it was a waste of money. (they are 12, 15 and 16) again I have no clue why they think that.
