Pseudo Dole Whip Floats

My ds and I have been craving Dole Whip Floats ever since our trip in February. Tonight we put pineapple sherbet in tall glasses, and topped it off with pineapple juice. The consistency of the sherbet isn't the same as the pineapple soft serve, but it took care of our cravings!!

A few years ago I looked up Dole Whips on youtube and found someone giving a step by step instruction. Come to find out you can order the real Dole mix and make it at home in one of those small ice cream makers. We ordered it and make them every few months. It tastes just like Magic Kingdoms! With shipping I think it ran around $36, but the bag has so much in it that it took well over a year to finish it.

We did the same thing The bag was huge and we are still using it. It is terrific.

Us too. I just love the Pineapple so much that I can't imagine that box arriving without it. Besides what would I do with all those little cans of pineapple juice in my cupboard.


PS For anyone trying this for the first time, remember that Dole Whips aren't meant to be frozen in the freezer. So when you do freeze it it will get very hard compared to what the original mix. But not to worry, just let it set out for a little while to thaw a little and it tastes just as good. Since we don't have any children in the house, we added pineapple rum once to see how that helped the freezing and it did a little, but I could really taste the rum.
