Did you get them yet? I did okay.

Critical reading: 560. (Better than 77% of juniors)
Critical math: 490. (Better than 54% of juniors)
Writing skills: 510. (Better than 67% of juniors)

Overall a 1560, percentile is 68. I thought I did okay, but it was my first time taking any type of test like this. I still have A LOT to work on. But with those scores, I can get into an local college here except University of Pennsylvania. Of course, the one I want to go to. :headache:

I don't remember what I got on my PSATs, but it was probably around what you got.
On the actual SAT I got 1800, but it took 2 tries.

I'm sure you'll be able to improve your score if you want to. Are you taking an SAT prep class? It really helped me.

i've never taken the sat, but i have always heard that the act is "easier" (it might be a format type thing.) is there an act test anywhere near you? :confused3

Yes Paula, it's required here. Verbal and Math prep. Shelby, colleges around here generally don't take the ACT. :headache:

really? cause around here the sat isn't typically administered, but the college aps i did had a spot for sat or act. :confused3

I haven't got mine back yet but I've taken the ACT twice already.

All the colleges I've seen take both, ACT or SAT though. :)

Means I should be getting mine back soon too.

Around here (New York/Northeast) they will sometimes accept the ACT, but they want to see your SAT scores as well. I plan on taking both, multiple times.

i'm taking SAT's tomorrow. (as a junior)

i took it in october, we still haven't gotten the scores yet. i think i did good on the reading parts, but i'm not so sure about the math. i'm only a sophomore, so my score doesn't really matter that much yet.

How do you get them? I'm a sophomore and I took it in... October?

Really? Down here PSAT's are only for juniors...

I took the SAT's and the reading/writing I excelled but math (like always) I did poorly on :/ it was upsetting actually...

The ACT's are definitly more easier- at least I thought...the math is more straight forward.

my sis took the psat and she is a freshman but she doesnt think she did too well tho.

here in Iowa we take the ACT's. Unless we decide to go to school somewhere
outside the midwest, i guess.

We take the PSATs as practice (duh!) here for sophomores and juniors. Then, once we finish our SAT prep (math and verbal) classes, we should take the PSATs. I'm probably going to take the March date, and then maybe again June. And, probably 2 times next year. I'll probably me taking the ACT in February, even though most schools around here don't care about the ACT.

My guidance counselor called me down to get the results.

when you take the act, register online (you pay with credit card, and get your results first) and pay the extra (like 10.00) to take the writing portion. its super easy, but usually most people don't take it, so you end up just being in a room with 3 or 4 other people. which means you're usually let out earlier, and if you're easily distracted you won't have a ton of people around you to take the test.

actstudent.org is the website i think.

I don't remember my scores, but I remember my precentiles.

Critical Reading: 88%
Math: 74%
Writing: 87%
Overall: 82%

We are requried to take them as sophomores here, but they don't really "count." If we take them as juniors, then they count to qualify for the NHS scholarship. You can also take them as freshman for practice.
