PSA-Very Cold Weather Alert for DLP

We're having -24, going to be -30 and feel like -40. And right now I'd like to be in Paris with temperatures like that - it sounds quite good compared to where I am now

Wow that is really cold! The coldest I've experienced in DLP was -8 but I wore leggins and thermal socks under my jeans and then had about 4 layers on top plus a Columbia ski jacket and hats gloves etc. My boyfriend on the other hand just wore a Canterbury thermal body warmer and a t shirt and hoodie and light jacket and was fine! I couldn't understand how he was never cold!

We always get the cold coming in from Siberia and Paris is colder every year than London because of this wind but this winter has been so warm that it is a bit of a shock

2011 was the warmest year on record - last year today it was 1° mini and 7° maximum today it's going to be - 2 maxi

If it's still like this when you come I'll have emigrated

The snow storm has just hit northern France. (I live roughly 120 miles as the crow flies from DLP)

About 1in fell in less than half an hour here, and we're in the very center of town, I just can imagine how it's like in the countryside. It's still heavily snowing and temperatures are -5°c in the center of town, must be in the -9°c outside of town, and fell like -14°c at least
Let's wait for Carrie_cat for the weather at DLP, but I guess it's just the same as here

For those who are about to leave for DLP, pack the snow gear, it's freezing.

Also get yourself warm and "watertight" shoes. There is nothing worse than thawing ice and melting snow. You'd get your feet all wet all day long. Last year we ended up using plastic bags (those you get in DLP shops) over our socks ...

Has just started here but has been snowing for a while now further east of the park . Don't think it will stay though, but there will be more on Sunday

It is freezing now, real cold as the humidity has risen because of the snow. It's a damp cold rather than the dry one we had

So it snowed a little but didn't last...new snow forecasted for Sunday

For the first time since this cold spell has begun the cars have frozen windscreens/back windows so it's becoming more humid

Looking out at the thermometre is says -5° at 10.00 am and it feels like -9° . I guess we could say it's getting warmer

At least it's a beautiful sunny day with a really clear blue sky.

Can confirm that it was extremely cold at DLP last week and yesterday cast members and taxi driver confirmed that lots of snow forecast for Sunday.

Keeping watch on this thread and on the forecasts, we're due to arrive at DLP lunchtime on Thursday, and leaving late afternoon Sunday. Fingers Crossed!!

Carrie -which website do you use for most accurate forecasts?

Thanks both! I have been reading along in this thread since it started, and now I remember seeing that post - shows you how short my memory is eh!?

It (at the moment) says sun for our trip (but still a nice -8 temperature ) which is at least better than snow (for us anyway)

So nervous, but will just have to make the best of it.

Way too cold for snow right now, that much I can promise. Some coastal areas in Germany are getting pretty bad snow due to the weather conditions (probably best check the site Carrie_Cat mentioned for French coast), but unless you try the Alps everything else is clear.

Yep, it was very cold! EMH on wednesday was extremely cold. On the plus side the sun was shining

Has it settled?

We're off to Ashford this evening, then will be on an early morning Eurotunnel tomorrow (hopefully!) - dreading the snow if it comes. None of the weather forecasts mentioned snow, so I'm panicking now!
