PSA: Once Upon A Time, Pick up a Times Guide

I am a massive fan of the castle projection show in the Magic Kingdom. The first time I saw Celebrate the Magic was on my honeymoon, the first time I had visited Walt Disney World since I was eight years old. As soon as I saw it, I knew there wasn't any other show, or night time spectacular that could top it for me. Until I saw the original Star Wars fireworks, but Disney seemed to mess that up too, but I digress...

After visiting the parks numerous times over the past couple of years, something around 25-30 trips, I was ecstatic to see the new(er) projection show Once Upon a Time. I write this because I cannot be the only one who has had this experience. I looked for the time on the MDE app, no luck. I even tweeted to WDWToday. Their "timely" response came in right after my wife and I boarded the PeopleMover and saw that OUAT started. At this point, trapped on the PeopleMover, I became very angry.

How could I have missed this?! I was ashamed to be someone who claims to know a good deal about the parks.

The next time you are in the parks, grab a times guide (the paper one) just in case.

Here was my dilemma - Celebrate the Magic was formerly listed on MDE as a night time spectacular. The time was even listed on the television screens in the Disney Resorts. Once Upon a Time, on the other hand, is listed as entertainment. In order to find the time in MDE, you have to look in the map view, zoom in on Cinderella Castle, then tap the correct bubble hovering over it.

Several other folks, including APs that I have talked to have also had similar experiences. Did Disney miss the mark scheduling Once Upon a Time at a time other that right before Wishes like Celebrate the Magic was for years?

This is a great site to keep BOOKMARKED for future reference.

The site posts the stage shows, in-park and other on-property shows and their times for the CURRENT week.

(It is updated every weekend.)

The times may be "similar" for other dates as well.

Click on the colored links for the various parks & venues

to open their listings and view their show times.

AND-
Although the site above offers more information than just the Times Guides,

HERE are reproductions of the actual Times Guides.

Be sure to check back to the site as the actual dates of your trip get closer.

I mean I think if you had really wanted to see it you would have looked under entertainment on the MDE app, pick up a times guide, or ask a cast member. It's not that hard to find out the show times.

Did you read my initial post at all? The time was BURIED in MDE. It didn't show up on the list view of entertainment. Like I said before, it should have been under night time spectaculars like Celebrate the Magic was for years.

I did ask a cast member. The CM said they were not sure if it ran that night or not.

I've been thrown off my small changes in showtimes before too. I really should just get into the practice of grabbing a times guide and confirming times on there. I plan my trips so many months in advance that I often forget to check for tweaked times. One trip, I missed when AK changed their operating hours and showed up an hour late for my ADR (had it stuck in my mind as "1 hour after park close"). Another time I carefully planned to get food from Sleepy Hollow and sit at one of their tables to watch the cute Castle stage show. Well - the time had changed by something like 20 mins and we missed it :(

I agree it is frustrating when things are not listed where you expect them to be.

BTW, I LOVED Celebrate the Magic too and am super excited to see Once Upon A Time. The projections always blow me away.

Yup - always grab a Times Guide. I don't usually get a map any more, but the Times Guide is the first thing I grab every morning at every park.
