DH takes DS on the lawnmower when he runs it. There could be an accident of course but there's a million things that could happen besides this. How does a child lose an arm? Didn't the person driving the lawnmower SEE the kid? I mean come on...
No, most of the time the adult on the lawnmower never sees the child untill it is too late. Sadly, this happened to a close friend several years ago. The guy had his four year old son on the lawn mower with him, and the 4 year old's best friend walked over from the next yard wanting to play. He ran behind the mower to catch up, and when the mower turned it was right into the child. No way the driver could have seen him. The child lost most of the toes on that foot and has had multiple reconstructive surguries. He is now in his twenties and uses a cane. Kids nad lawn mowers just don't mix.
