Make sure your ad includes your address and the day/time of sale! I am amazed at how often these are left out.

The words "Yard Sale", the date and time, and an arrow are the most important things that need to be on the sign in large print.

Drivers don't have time to read lots of words on a sign they pass by.

For me, a sign with no arrow but with an address is useless. I don't know where that street is relative to where I am at that instant.

I agree. I was referring to actual ads in the newspaper or on craigslist though.

So true! Newspapers are even ads you pay for so take the time to let people know where to go for the sale. Craigslist is great though - last time I posted photos of bigger ticket items that hadn't sold in the first few hours and I got two offers over email and they came by to pick it up before we closed up shop.

I agree..AND keep your dogs inside, please..AND if you cancel and you've advertised on a website please have the courtesy of noting that there. I get tired of wasting gas driving to a sale and pulling up to find nothing happening.
