i JUST WANTED TO REMIND ALL THE PARENTS OF YOUNG KIDS: Please bolt all your heavy furniture to the wall so it can not tip over on your babies.ast week my young cousins 4yr ds climbed on a dresser and it fell on him and he died! I hate to see parents going through this and it CAN be stopped by one step...I have ALWAYS attached our stuff so it can not tip but I know it is something people just dont think about.A parent should NEVER have to bury their babies!!

I am so sad to hear about your loss.:flower3:

A neighbor of ours had a child pull a TV down on herself trying to hug a favorite character on the TV. Luckily the toddler was ok, had to take an ambulence to the hospital and stay a while for observation but was eventually ok. You are right about safety, kids do the strangest things thinking it makes perfect sense.

omg! I'm heartbroken for your family!!

Yes, we tethered things to the walls when the kids were little... so many people laughed at us, but my kids were CLIMBERS... there was no keeping them down from things. And especially on carpeting in bedrooms, the tall dressers can be wobbly, and they're not built today like years ago where they were all real wood and much heavier and wouldn't tip over so easily by a 30lb toddler climbing on them. I notice my ds's tall dresser (which is not really "REAL" wood - it's just kids furniture), is sort of light-weight, and again, wobbly on the carpet if you were to climb on it. I think that has a lot to do with it too (the lightness of the furniture and it tipping over easier).

Again, I'm sooooo very sorry for your loss!!

OP I am so sorry for your loss. What a terrible tragedy. My heart goes out to you and your cousin. We have always thethered our tall/heavy furniture and televisions.

I've been following the blog of a mom who lost her baby boy in December for the same reason. So sad. My heart goes out to her as well. Reading her blog reminds me to hold my babies a little closer and a little longer.

Her first entry after the accident was Dec 15 and her newest entry is Jan 21.
