As the title says, make sure you clean your coffee maker all the time. I thought my machine was DEAD! It wouldn't brew a cup of coffee at all. It didn't seem to be pumping water out of the resevoir or anything. I was so upset because I love my brewer. Well, I called customer service and they asked me all of these questions and wanted to know if I descale it, etc. I did descale it when it started to brew slower and when the notice would come on the screen to descale. It still didn't work! After a few frustrating minutes because the customer service people didn't want to tell me another trouble shooting method because I wasn't in front of the brewer (they didn't tell me when they called back I needed to be in front of it, I was on my way to work when I talked to them).

Well, let me tell you, after they told me what to do I thought "yah, right, like that is going to work." Much to my surprise it DID work. I I thought I was going to need to buy a new machine, but so far it is working like it should. :woohoo:

So, here is what I had to do. There is a needle that goes into the top of the K cup that has a gasket around it. Remove that gasket and you can see three holes in the needle. Take a straightened paper clip and push it into the holes. It should go in about an inch to 1 1/2 inches. Continue to "clean" the holes and keep trying to brew cups of water until it is brewing the proper amount of fluid for the cup size.

I had to do it a lot before my brewer worked everytime I tried it, but it is amazing how well this method of cleaning worked. I also put almost pure vinegar in the machine and let it sit over night and again all day. I'm sure this helped alot too, since I guess I didn't descale it often enough.

Hope this helps someone else that loves there Kuerig as much as I do!

That happened to me a few months ago after brewing one of the Cafe Escapes chai latte cups. Guess the sugar & goo just got stuck.

Well, since I find the CE cups too sweet on their own, I have always mixed a small cup of the sweet chai with a larger one of the Celestial Seasonings chai. Works for me.

So... now I always make sure to brew the regular chai second to rinse out the system from the other stuff. So far, so good...

We have a Keurig at work that started brewing just like 1/3 cups of coffee, despite cleaning, we had to return it and just got a new one. The "old" one was only purchased around Christmas. I hope that was just a fluke. I know my daughter has had one for years with no problems.

Wow. Mine was not working this morning and I figured that I needed to clean/descale it because we have had it for a while and well......I've never cleaned it. Thanks for posting this........you have given me some hope that I will get it back to working!:thumbsup2

DGThree, that was one of the questions they asked me, if I used any of the hot chocolate cups. I guess that must be a problem with gumming up the machine.

So I tried everything mentioned above and my machine was still not working. I gave up and called customer service. They waked me through the steps again but then when we tried to brew a cup and I told them that it was not even making a sound, they said they were shipping me a new one! WOW! I do have to send my K cup holder back as proof of ownership, but that's it! Amazing! :thumbsup2:banana:

I just got a new one as well, just close to the one year mark. We had descaled and that improved our short cup problem and it seemed to be better. Then -- no power at all. So we got a new one from them - I agree - very good customer service.

We were close to the one year mark as well. Seems like I read somewhere that they had some defective units produced last year. It really doesn't matter to me because they are taking care of the problem and they were super easy to deal with!

Let me first say we love our Kuerig but we are on our 3rd brewer in a year.Customer service is great and have sent us a new brewer everytime. We tryed all the tricks mentioned. Finally this last brewer we bought a Brita water filter pitcher and so far so good.

Wow, I've never even thought about doing this before.
