PS2 - which game to get a 13 yo?

My nephew is 13 and likes PS2 games. Which game is the new and upcoming but rated E (his parents watch the rating religiously which I agree with). I've emailed my SIL but haven't heard back. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

my DS has asked for sly 3 which is rated E for ten and up.

My son is 12 and he loves his PS2... He has asked for Madden 06-- which is a football game..

I was going to second the Madden 2006 Football game. Also, my son asked for NFL Blitz. I'm not sure of the rating- but the sports aren't usually too bad.

Oops! I was going to suggest Star Wars Battlefront II, that my sons love (ages 11 and 6), but I see it is rated T. I need to check what they buy more carefully!

Just about any sports game will probably be enthusiatically received. Madden 2006, NBA 2006, NHL 2006 or MLB 2006, depending on your nephew's interests.

Kingdom Hearts is also great if your nephew likes role-playing games and Disney. It's rated E but there is some cartoon violence in it (no blood or gore, but you do carry & use a weapon).

Racing games are good but certain ones are just plain nasty...avoid Vice City. Need for Speed is okay for 10+. Crash Team Racing is pretty funny and definitely G-rated.

Guitar Hero is supposed to be really hot with the teenage boys but it really needs the guitar controller to be cool.

Hmmm I would go with a sports title although my 11 year old does play some Teen games. I look at why they are T rated and if it is not an issue for me I will buy it(my big ones are sexual references and blood violence- we don't buy those at all....) At13 he is of age for the T rated games but I applaud his parents for keeping their values. My son wants Need for speed most wanted(It is a T game I have to check out why I think you are running from the police and that would be a no no for him to play..) but I think Midnight Club is just as good and it is E 10+ rated. I checked Amazon and it was very highly rated by players as well

Hey something strange is that the games for different systems are rated differently???? So Need for speed most wanted for PSP is actually rated E but for playstation2 it is rated T(maybe they change content???) I am really confused now.

The video game market is full of sequels. If your SIL ever gets back to you, find out what game he like (or liked last year) and there is probably a sequel out for it.

My DS-14 asked for the Ultimate Spider Man for his Game Cube - I'm sure you can get it for his PS2.

I would have to agree with the sports games. My son (12) LOVES the Madden football series and we had to search high and low for Madden 2006 this year. We finally found it on-line, but a lot of places were sold out. He also loves MLB 2005. Good luck!

I just got Guitar Hero for my son. It was very hard to find around here. I finally found a store that had 1 left at a sister store. They were willing to hold it for 1 hour. We just made it. I am so excited though because I'm thinking DS is going to LOVE it.
