I have a PS for a couple of lunch and dinner times and I am beginning to think about the lines. What if we arrive at the restaurant and there are lines of people (some may or may not have a PS). How do I get to the podium to let them know I am there? I don't want to be way back there and lose my time.

Thanks
Jodi

First, you should plan on checking in about 10 minutes before your PS time. I've never seen lines in front of podiums that were too long or bad.

Le Cellier can get them but I just make my way up politely and get the CMs attention. It helps to have a smile on your face. Many people just get too grouchy when told they have to wait or even get turned away without a PS. ;)

Have a great vacation! :teeth:

Considering that many of those in line to get to the podium might also have PS's and be waiting to check in as well, I think it's rather rude to just cut in front of them. I know that if I were awiting in a line to check in and someone cut in front of me, I'd be more than a wee bit ticked.

I'd say to simply get in the line and wait your turn to check in. They ask that you be at the restaurant ten minutes prior to your reservation, and I've never had to wait in a line to check in for more than three minutes or so, so you'll be fine :)

Now if it's a matter of cutting through a crowd just hanging around in front to get to the podium when the people aren't in line but just waiting to be called, by all means an "excuse me" as you cut through is fine :)

Anne is right...you are supposed to arrive approx. 10 minutes early so you will have no problem making it through any line to check in and be seated in time...so just get in line. Everything will be fine.

Jodi -- not to worry. All the WDW restaurant check-ins are quite efficient and the longest wait I've ever had was maybe 2 minutes tops. We always try to arrive 10 - 12 minutes ahead of our PS and there's never been a problem.

You can usually tell a crowd that's waiting from a line to check-in. Most people check-in and then move away from the podium so others can check-in. If we see a group in front of the podium, we politely ask, "Is this the line to check-in?" If it's just a crowd, they step aside and you move up to check-in.

Hope you have a terrific time at Disney!!
