DH and I are going to WDW in late Sept. Is it really necessary to make PS reservations at all the places, or just a few very popular ones? I would really prefer to just take it easy and eat when we are hungry not follow a strict itinerary. This time of year will we be able to find sit down meals without PS?

My advice is to make the priority seating and if it doesn't work out at the last minute, don't sweat it. They aren't holding your seat, just setting you up with the next one that comes along. You won't inconvenience anyone or take anything away from the restaurant. Make the PS at the time you think you'll want to go and hope for the best.

All I can tell you is that you'll probably wish you had one the first time you sit for about 2 hours waiting for a table.

We are going the last week of Sept into 1st week of Oct, and I have my PS made, but there have been some I tried to change and wasn't able to get anything. Mostly for character meals that I couldn't change. I'd say make a few, that way you have them and won't have to wait forever or eat counter service all weeek.

You are going at a very slow time. I do not think you will have much trouble getting into most restaurants. Now that being said if you wish to do any character meals or really want a particular restaurant at a certain time than I would do a ps for them. You can even make a ps for a place the same day you want to eat there.

We normally go during value season slow times and I usually only make one ps a day for either a character meal or a restaurant I know we want to eat at. The rest of the time we just wing it and see where we are and what our options are. We've never had a problem finding something and getting a table within a very reasonable timeframe.

I still say that you should make the priority seating and if you don't need it, no sweat. You can also make several (1 for each park) in case you don't know where you'll be.

Courtesy qould dictate cancelling them if you KNOW you won't need them. That's what we did about a month ago and we only waited about 5-10 minutes, even with the crowds.
