Hi.
I'm a little confused. As always happens when I'm away, Disney has made some important changes and I'm out of the loop. I understand the new CG policy - go to 2nd floor to check in, must be a paying customer, etc.
We intend to go to CG for dinner during Sept. and always try to be there during the show. Are the holding people downstairs who have PS once it gets close to showtime?
I want to make the PS far enough ahead that we are allowed into the restaurant, but we don't want to be one of those couples who gets there too early and holds a table for forever just to see the show. How far in advance should we make the PS? How far ahead of that should we checkin? It will be a Thurs night.
Just curious if there's been a problem with people having PS for within an hour or so of Wishes and not being allowed upstairs.
Thanks, and sorry if this has been asked. I tried to search.

PS between 8 and 9 is perfect. We were just there this past Friday..had an 8pm ps..waited about 45 minutes at the bar..only because they gave two couples the same table..lol, and our host couldn't find the table...really great..lol. Then our table became available..lol...but, another waitress moved a couple to it from another area of the dining room..she had seated them about 15 minutes earlier. The dining room hostess..called the manager over at that point and the waitress got a bit of a chewing out.

A table 4 four opened up and yes..they did seat us at that table..even though we were only two..because of all the mix ups.
They apologized over and over.

Dinner was pretty good, we had some great dessert wines while we watched the fireworks. They do not let too many people up..which is really nice..everyone had a seat.

I believe the fireworks are more amazing being watched from main street though. As they look as if they are centered over the castle...from CA grill..they are off to the side. So, from now on..I will watch them from the MK..much nicer, or from the boat for the fireworks cruise..same price as dinner basically and the best view on the planet.

Enjoy!

I need to clarify . . .
You had PS for 8pm, got in at 8 and waited 45 min. ok. Was wishes at 9? or later?
We always see the fireworks from main street as well. We really go to CG for the food. Wishes just adds so much to the already spectacular atmosphere. And I'm so glad they've started this new policy. I think it will make the experience even better.

Wishes were at 10 when we waited the 45 minutes.

It was just a big confusing mess..lol. That same server..was leading people in the wrong direction all night long.

Were you able to get a window table? Or no matter what table can you see them from the windows? I heard that they have an observation deck area for just the restaurant-goers. I would love to try for this on 8-31-04 as it's my birthday. Ely

P.S. Wishes that night start at 9:30 so should I try for PS at 8:30?
Did you ask for a window table? Please give all tips possible!! Thanks in advance. I'm such a big kid - Ely

bumping to see if anyone has any info...we are going in November when Wishes is earlier but I am curious too!
