Is it necessary to make a PS for breakfast at Boatwrights? We'll be staying at POR and would like to have breakfast there at least one morning, but it would be nice not to have to make a PS so we can go whenever we get up, rather than on a schedule.

I have ate there a few mornings, and they are busy, but I don't think you would need a PS... anyone else??

You just really never know from one day to the next whether a PS will be needed. We have shown up at Boatwright's several times for breakfast and had to wait 25-35 minutes to be seated. (Always during off-season) Other times we have had a PS and walked in to a nearly empty restaurant. I think it's always a better bet to have a PS. You can always cancel and waiting for long periods of time is not fun!

They seem to be good about working non-PS holders in, but double check their service hours, when I was there over Spring Break they did not start serving breakfast til 7:30am and this was too late for us since we went to EMH at the parks each morning.

been there both on and off season with PS and have noticed every time that we would not have needed it, the most i have seen in six or seven breakfasts there is 75% full, having said that i still get and recommend that you do too, a PS.

we stayed at POR from 9/10-9/14. We didn't need a PS for boatwrights. In fact, the entire resort (parks included) were so dead, we didn't need a PS for anything. I hadn't made any since we had just rescheduled our trip due to the Hurricane but we must have gotten lucky. the parks, transportation, and resorts were all empty and we didn't wait for anything!

If you're staying at POR, may I recommend making at least one evening visit to the River Roost lounge in the main building. There's a great piano show there at night and they have fabulous cocktails. My personal favorite is Miss Melodie's Colada!

Enjoy your trip!

I stayed at PORS last Nov. for 8 days (this was the third week of Nov., the week before Thanksgiving week) and had two PS for breakfast at Boatwrights and needed them both times (I think one was on a Monday and the other on a Thursday). The first breakfast PS I had a wait of about 10 minutes. In those 10 minutes, I watched a woman curse out the CM because she couldn't get into Boatwrights without having a PS or a wait of less than 30 minutes. CM was very nice and finally at some point had to tell this rude woman that the food court is right down the hall if someone needed to eat now. It was really ugly to watch/listen while waiting to be seated. The second time, I was seated immediately ( I believe my ps were for 8:15 and 8:40 a.m.).

Best to make the ps just to be on the safe side.
