I was wondering if we had to make PSs for restaurants in the hotels during that week also?

Oh yeah!
We were there last year and this year and I highly recommend PS for all park sit-down ones and popular resort restaurants(all character buffets, ie OHANA, 1900PF dinner, Flying Fish, Spoodles). We did find that the many restaurants of the Swan and Dolphin were usually able to accomodate walk-in and you can call the restaurant directly(without the PS system). It was and extremely busy time and if you really want a restaurant..get a ps. We called at exactly 90 days for New Year's Eve at Brown Derby. Many restaurants were not taking any walk-in that week.

We were there Christmas 2002 and found it was necessary to have ps's that week. Think about your Christmas Day meal Now! Of course we were wanting a traditional Christmas meal and had PS at buffet at Grand Floridian and still waited for 40 minutes for our table. Keep in mind, people slow down on Christmas for meals and many many people were dressed their best for the meals. That said the meal was enjoyable, but my kids were tired by the time we got to eat. I overheard many people being turned away for meals the entire week unless they had PS's. Hope that helps!
