PS at RFC? Can you do it?

I know they're not the greatest food but my kids love RFCs so we are trying to put this in our itinerary. Can you make a PS for either one at WDW? Is one better atmosphere-wise than the other?

I paid $5 and joined the Rainforest Cafe Safari Club. You get a $10 gift certificate to eat at RFC, and you also get a membership card. With the membership card, you get first available seating - meaning if you show your card, you're put on the list for the next available table (for your party size). I think you also get 1 free appetizer per party (per visit) and 10% off of member and 3 guests meals too. (Doesn't hurt to save a buck!!!).

We showed up at the DTD RFC, in August 2002, around 6pm. I showed my card and we were seated w/in 15 minutes (in the gorilla room, I believe).

I don't think the DTD location takes PS's, but the one at AK may. Hopefully someone else can answer that one.

The one at AK does. I made one for our Oct. trip.

For RFC in DD, you have to call directly for a reservation. They do not go through WDW-DINE.

Is the membership in the Safari Club good for one year? Does anyone know if you have to do it at a resturant or can you do it over the phone?

Also, which WDW RFC do people think has better atmosphere, AK or DTD?

I may be wrong, but I don't think there is an expiration with it! None of my paperwork has said anything about it. Yes, you can join at the rest., or you can send the info. in. I would do it before if you have a chance, so that you can take your gift certificates with you!
