I am so proud of my DD(8yo)!!! I just keep telling everyone what she did!! She had really long hair, forever! She told me she wanted to cut her hair and donate it to locks of love. I was so proud of her thoughtfulness. She really wanted to do it, I kept asking her if she was sure because she has always loved having long hair. So, she now has a really cute bob and some lucky girl will have a beautiful wig because of her!! She was able to give 12 inches!!!

You let her know that she just made another child exceptionally happy! I would be proud too.

How sweet! You must be really proud of her. That's a wonderful thing for her to have done. I was thinking about doing the same thing when my hair gets long enough, but it'll have to be pretty long because I look awful with short hair.

... Now if only I can muster the courage of an 8 year old :rotfl:

What a sweet and generous daughter you have! You have done a great job raising her if at 8 years old she is already so selfless and generous in spirit. I work with chronically ill children and can guarantee you that she has made such a difference in someone's life today. What sick kids want, more than anything else, is to be treated like a normal kid, and your daughter helped someone do that. Tell her she is a fantastic kid and congratulations on raising such a wonderful girl :thumbsup2

What a marvelous gesture! I saw a thing on tv a couple of weeks ago about locks of love and the way the little girl smiled when she put on that beautiful wig was just heart warming. GOOD JOB!

That's terrific! I always see the Locks of Love sign up at my Cartoon Cuts, but as I have 2 boys, it's a moot point! (and as much as I would like to in theory, there is no way I could cut all of my hair off!) I'd much rather write a check... Which makes what your DD did all the more of an accomplishment, as it is something that is difficult for most people to think about doing! :thumbsup2

i did the same thing with my hair about 3 years ago. it felt awesome getting rid of it and even better knowing that it went to a great cause.

that's pretty impressive that at 8 she decided to donate it, i don't think i would have even thought of that when i was 8.
