Protestor jumped in front of car!

Boy am I ever mad! A protestor jumped in front of my car this afternoon and a bunch of demonstraters were yelling "NO WAR" at me. I was too mad to be scared at the moment and just felt like yelling at them that they had some nerve. Since I couldn't yell it in Italian and it really wasn't such a great idea anyway I kept quiet and went on my way, but still....how dare them! Like I am personally responsible for this war. And I am sure if I had actually hit him I would have been in BIG trouble.

Sorry to ramble, but I just had to vent.

Oh but they have the "right" to protest..so that makes their infringing on your rights ok. (this was meant to be very tough in cheek) I have nothing against protesters, but once they start acting like that...jumping in front of a car or blocking sidewalks..then it goes over the line.

I would be pissed off if that had happened to me. I really think that anyone who does stuff like that just shows disrespect and stupidity, no mateer what side they are on. People seem to think thst their right to protest, can infringe on someonelese right to be able to ignore them.

Anyone jumping in front of any car during a protest... anti or pro needs to be arrested.....clearly a case where the driver's rights were violated to allow someone to express their freedom of speech...

Probably not because the situation wouldn't have been as threatening with her being an American in another country. A pro-war demonstrator jumping in front of her car, while putting themselves & her in danger as well, would likely not act in an abusive manner towards her if they found out she was an American. Hope that satifies your curiousity.

Yes, Willy I would have been just as angry. Putting oneself in danger (and others) for any cause, in my opinion, is plain stupidity. I wonder what would have happened if I hadn't reacted quickly enough and he was hit? Such a shame people have to do things like this.

Karen, if you had asked me this a week ago I would have said probably not. However, last week we were passing a bunch of demonstrators and another Italian was flipping them the bird, so I guess they do know what it means. Typically though, they usually give one another the horns (similar to the sign language symbol of I love you, but with your fingers pointing and the person you are telling off).
