Has anyone ever seen any plastic protective covers for cookbooks? I need to cover some of my most loved books and was hoping there is a source out there. Thanks!!!

Over here we go to WH Smith, newsagent/stationers. Anywhere that sells stuff for schools (sticky back plastic etc) should have something

Do you want covers for the actual books or for the dust jackets?

When I buy a new cookbook that has a dust jacket, I just cover it (the jacket) with clear Contac. When it's done, you really can't see that it's been covered, and the Contac paper makes the cover very "wipeable". ;)

I have a cookbook stand made of perspex, which you stand the open book in and the pages are protected (unless it is a very big book). Trouble is, its always full of recipes printed off the internet, cut out of magazines, and those little "special gift" recipe books you get with magazines sometiumes so i can never fit my recipe books in there :guilty:

Try balancing it out of reach of splashes! :teeth:

I like the idea of the clear contact paper! I've started photo-copying my favorite recipes and keep them in a 3-ring binder in plastic page protectors. I also make a copy for my daughter and future daughter in law.
