Could someone please help me out. Never stayed at Coronado but seems to be the only moderate with availability during our dates...

Great resort! A little large, but not as big as POR. If possible, preferred rooms, in any resort, make all the difference, we always do preferred! Our favorite resort so far, all things considered! Going back on our next trip, unless we can do a deluxe! Fingers crossed though!

I've never personally been to CSR but I have been to POR. Yes, technically POR may be slightly bigger but there are multiple ways to get from one location to another at POR since there are several bridges over the river. At CSR if you end up in the section furthest away from the lobby, food court and restaurant it is a long hike around one side of the lake or the other. As previous poster mentioned, a preferred room would give the best location at either resort.

Loved CSR!! Booked there both times, got free upgrade to AKL 2nd time though. Will be doing CSR again in future.

Ask for Cabanas 8B, 9A, or 9B if possible. Gets you between big pool and main building without a horrible walk. Plus near small pool, hammocks by lake, and laundry room. Like the feel of the cabanas more than the casitas. Ranchos are the furthest set of buildings.

Best thing about CSR is that their buffet for breakfast at the Pepper Market is considered a quick service meal on the dining plan. So you can eat a big breakfast before you head to the parks and then not have to tangle with lunch lines, just eat a snack. And the food was good.

Pool was really fun. My kids loved it there. Check in was smooth both times. We're always early and they still have a room, but we don't go at the crazy busy times of the year either. The free upgrade this last time was a pleasant surprise that my husband almost turned down simply because of the QS morning buffet. However, I was NOT going to let that happen when we have 2 young boys which loved the animals and an upgrade costs $750 if you would have paid for it! we weren't offered any reason why we got it, but we could have turned it down.

We also had a car while we were there, and would never do Disney without one. So that might factor into your decision, as you must take a bus everywhere. AK and HS parks are close and a short ride. The rest are longer. With a car, everything is within 15 min, (including dinner reservations at other resorts, as opposed to over an hour travel time via bus from ANY resort not on the monorail). And there is no boat to Downtown Disney like from Port Orleans. My SIL stayed there and liked it. Her only complaint was the trundle bed for the 5th person was pretty useless for anyone over 6-7 years old. But she didn't do her research on disboards!

FYI- as of early this year, the Pepper Market is no longer a buffet. All meals are à la carte!

We love CSR! We don't have anything to compare it to, but we've booked our third trip there for October.

As for a preferred room, it depends on what your priorities are. The preferred rooms (Casitas 1, 2 and 3) are not the closest to the Dig Site main pool. They are however very convenient to the Pepper Market!
