Pros / cons for rental or transfer of points

Anticipating having about xxxx ( removed details) points we will not be using this year.

Still new to this - what are the pros and cons of rental or transfer of your unused points?
Thinking of doing one or the other on the DIS boards later this year.

Once the points are transferred, you’re done. If you rent, you’ll be on the hook for possible issues until they check in, even with “non refundable” reservations.

You can rent points in multiple smaller increments (shorter reservations, smaller villas) until they’re all gone. You can transfer only once, so if no one wants all 150, you’ll either be renting the rest or losing them.

Nothing says you can only do one or the other. You can post here as “150 points for transfer or rental.”
