Pros and cons of sparkling waters

My dentist told me in March that whilst it is a better choice then drinking soda, it can harm the enamel on your teeth due to it's acidity. She told me for every glass of soda / mineral water (even plain) to eat a small piece of cheese to offset the acidity.

Personally, I love sparkling water. I think the pros are, there is nothing in there that's bad for you because it's water.
I guess the con is, it CAN get boring after a while. Either way sparkling water will be MUCH better for you than a beer or glass of wine.

They DO make a sparkling water with a hint of beer taste, it's called Michelob Ultra. :p

I was a big Diet Coke fan, got off that train, now if I have a “pop” it’s Fresca , but I do drink only 1-2 a day. Usually I just drink good old fridge water with some flavor drops.

I tend to drink a can every evening. It must be lemon or lemon-lime. I make a lemonade seltzer. I put about two ounces of lemonade in the glass and fill the rest with seltzer and ice. Very refreshing and not too sweet.

I love my soda stream for home. In cans, I like the caffeinated Bubly or select LaCroix flavors. Topo chico I like too I make lots of Ranch water :)

My dentist told me to just use a straw.

Sparkling water tastes like club soda to me and don't care for it. Since people buy a lot of bottled water, I think these pricey sparkling waters are a way to charge people even more for their product. Most bottled water is simply filtered tap water and unless you have some issue with the source of water at your home, I think they are a waste of money. Makes sense to take your own water if you are going to be outside at someplace where you won't have access to fresh water.

Usually the sugar in regular pop that is supposedly bad for you tends to get replaced by something else. Down the road newer research will probably show that product is worse for you then the sugar it replaced.

I love Sparkling Ice. They have it in regular and caffeinated versions. I buy it from Amazon and the price isn’t too bad.

That’s my favorite - Black Cherry and Black Raspberry. No sugar, calories, or caffeine, but intense flavor.

Love the black raspberry. Sometimes I mix it with a little whipping cream over ice. I do low carb and it’s a nice change of pace.

There is no pro because the con is carbonated water is gross.
LOL...and I find tap/flat water gross.

All I drink is "angry water", no flavors. I just like the fizz, sometime when I want a little sugar, I will mix it with Trader Joe's strawberry rhubarb or elderflower sparkling drinks.

LOL

I drink gallons of water a day. I need to fill my gut with ice cold water and I don't think I can guzzle down my I think 42 ounce bottle (ice taking up some of the space) full of carbonated water.
