Props to Dollywood

Just wanted to give a shout out about Dollywood. We visited yesterday for the Southern Gospel Jubilee, taking my dad to see The Inspirations (his favorite group). Dollywood offers a discounted ticket for members of the military and their dependents. Now I know lots of other places do this too (which I am very grateful for as DH is in the National Guard), but most offers are limited to active duty or retired military. Dollywood extends their offer to veterans as well. My dad served in the Korean war and while he didn't stay in and retire from the military he was able to show his veterans card and get the discounted ticket at Dollywood....along with the senior citizens discount.

So thanks Dollywood for recognizing all those who serve/served!!!!!!!!

I used to live in Knoxville, and we would go over to Pigon Forge/Gatlinberg quite often but never went to Dollywood. Everyone that I worked with down there loved it and raved about it.

We went last weekend, but the line into the Showstreet Palace was so long, we opted to listen to some of the outdoor music. It was still great!

Dollywood is excellent. They've done such a great job with it. It is an entire theme park as Frontierland. Very high quality throughout and in some ways as good as Disney. Great shows and very good food.

The Lost Mine attraction is Disney quality. One of the best themed rides ever.

We were there for the first time in August. It was a nice park. We also enjoyed their water park, Splash Country. The thing that I loved most about Dollywood is you could go up to any snack stand and they'll give you free cups of ice water!!! Really helped on those hot & humid August days.
