Thanks for posting this link. I haven't made it through all 80 pages just yet, but there are some very interesting points made in the decision. Well worth a read.

A shame that this has to be going on at all...people should be able to marry whoever they want, as long as it's consentual and of the right age. And too bad that somehow this doesn't actually repeal Prop 8 - gotta keep on moving up the court system. Could be still years, but at least a step in the right direction.

I find it much more offensive that more states allow kids as young as 13 years old to be married (with permission - but still) than allow same-sex couples of consenting age to be married. C'mon America, your better than that!

Are you just making a point or is that an actual fact? Most states allow 13 year olds to marry????

There is so much in the world I don't know. If that is fact, it is another new thing learned.

Not most states...certain states allow as young as 13: in a quick survey on Wikipedia I only saw 1 - New Hampshire @ 13, I found 4 that allow 14 year olds (New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas) and another half dozen or so that allow 15 year olds (Minnesota, Missouri and Mississippi right in a row also Utah). I guess I consider all of those as allowing "kids" to marry. (I guess I could accept 16 year-olds as OK.) Some of the states just list "Under 18 with parental consent, but don't list a minimum age (Alabama for example), so the number might be higher. Again, I didn't do a rigorous investigation.

I just saw today that Washington is going to become the 7th state to allow same-sex marriages. I sort of emphasized my point by saying "more states allow kids as young as 13 years old to be married", when in fact not many allow 13-year olds, but again I would consider 15 or younger as "kids" so I stick by my point. It's more accepted for kids to get married than for consenting same-sex adults, and that seems screwed up to me.

I am neither gay nor any sort of lefty liberal, but I do think if two adults want to get married, they should be able to and be recognized for it. This doesn't seem much different than back when inter-racial marriage wasn't allowed in many states, and can understand why many in the community feel disciminated against.

Actual, I'm sorry I shouldn't get on a high horse here on a Disney community board, I'm probably risking some sort of ban, but I guess I feel strongly about it.

Puerto Rico counts as a USA Territory and as a USA Commonwealth since around 1917..

I am so happy Prop. 8 was found unconstitutional. I find it disgusting that people in this day and age would actually go to such lengths (draining savings accounts, 401Ks, childrens' college funds, etc.) to support such a RIDICULOUS proposition.

Please don't take the title of this film the wrong way, but 8: The Mormon Proposition is a fantastic documentary on the type of insanity and dare I say, low mental capacity, behind this movement. It is available on Netflix.

I can't wait to see what happens with Prop. 8.
