This seemed like a good place for this question.

My friend is going to Disney World with his girlfriend soon and there he plans to pop the question. He has an idea but it isn't there yet. He has never been to any Disney park and needs a little help. What are some good ideas for proposing anywhere in Disney World? Preferably, a little on the extravagant side.

Hi there! I think that if he is looking for extravagant there are a few things I could recommend, but they would be a little expensive! He will need to call ahead to book some of these!\

1- really extravagant- rent the Grand 1 yaght for a Wishes fireowkrs cruise its 450 I think, but difficult to book as its very popular! But a romantic firework proposal on a yaught would be extravagant!

2- a pontoon boat or one of the other boats you can rent for a wishes or Illuminations cruise (Wishes & Illuminations are fireworks shows)

3- a carriage ride at Fort Wilderness or Port Orleans resort could be very romantic!

4. Dinner reservations at one of the resteraunts that has a fireworks view during the fireworks show, Narcoosees (this is where I accepted! lol) or California Grill, as at both of these patrons go out on the deck to watch fireworks which is very romantic

5- Cinderellas Royal Table- resterant inside the castle

I think there will be a lot of great suggestions on this board, but I think your friend needs to call ahead and speak to the concierge if he is staying onsite! castmembers are VERY helpful and will really go out of their way to make it special!

My fiance proposed to me on the Grand 1. It was AMAZING. He had private dining deliver all of my favorites from restaurants around disney. They covered the entire boat in red rose petals and our butler had champagne waiting for us the moment we stepped aboard.

I was totally confused and thought my dad had booked it as a last minute birthday present for my fiance. So I stepped aboard thinking that it was his big present and I was telling the Captain and Butler that my dad had picked up on a last minute cancellation for us - and they were going on and on about how generous my dad must be!!! I had NO clue! I was so amazed that they just happened to be serving all of my favorite dishes! It never ever occured to me!

Then after dinner the Captain came down from upstairs with this thing with a napkin over it. Then he turned to my fiance and said I think your lady may have dropped this - he whisked away the napkin and there was a glass slipper on a white pillow of carnations and a tiara. In the slipper was the ring. I was so shocked that I couldn't even speak! I was more shocked that my fiance came up with it and booked it all by himself - I never thought that he had it in him!

Right after he proposed we were moved out onto the back of the boat for the start of Wishes and then dessert was some sort of chocoate cake or something and the wedding chocolate covered strawberries.

It was so amazing - I would highly recommend it. I think he spent way tooo much but just to give you an idea the whole evening for the boat for the evening and the private dining and flowers etc was about $2,000. If you skip the dining and just charter the boat for an hour its quite a bit less.

I have seen lots of people propose during the Wishes fireworks in the MK and on the beach at the Polynesian. Also there is a Dream show in front of the castle during the day - I have seen a few proposals there. It is much less expensive and I think equally romantic.... especially in this economy. It always brings tears to my eyes when I see girls being proposed to in front of the castle - its just soo happy. I am a total sap what can I say.

my fiance went through gifts of a lifetime... he told them what i liked and they came up with a huge thing. they emailed him a bunch of ideas then he picked the one he liked best.

I have read about gifts of a lifetime!!!! I have read some of the cutest stories. I would probably check them out first :o)

My DFi proposed on the bridge to Tomorrowland. Like we're getting ready to start our tomorrow together. Maybe something like that, real cheesey and then dinner at CRT (DFi forgot to plan that) Don't forget the just engaged buttons from city hall

my fiance proposed to me in epcot in Dec. We watched Illuminations in the United Kingdom. Our favorite place. Then before the finale he asked if I wanted to start walking out to miss the crowds. He took me into the united kingdoms garden and got down on one knee. It was perfect no one was back there. Then as he stood up the finale of the fireworks were going off. We could see them over the buildings. We just stood there hugging watching the fireworks. It didn't cost any extra money and was truly magical.

i got enagged at the Polynesian my fiance had us go on a scavander hunt around the hotels and popped the question on the beach infront of the castle is was amazing!!
