I want to hear how all of you married or engaged gals were proposed to. I got this idea from a show on TLC or something like that:)

POST AWAY:cutie:

My FI has never been to Disneyworld or anything. After begging (and him not knowing why) he agreed to take my to Disneyland Paris over my Spring Break for a few days of leave time. He proposed in front of Sleeping Beauty (I think thats whose it is) Castle at night. It was super sweet, and intimate. We were alone with no one around. :) It was awesome just being the two of us.

We were on the balcony at WL which overlooked MK and Cinderella Castle during the Wishes fireworks. He got down on his knee and pulled out the ring. It was so dark I couldn't see him or the ring, I just remember breaking into tears of surprise and joy! It was so romantic and special with just the two of us.

We were there on the CP when my proposal happened. We actually decided to leave early for various reasons but before leaving Matt decided to have a special evening (he had this planned for a long time and one of my friends even mentioned him planning this from Novemember!!). March 12th was our 6 month anniversary and March 14th is my birthday so on March 13th we went to have dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table. Matt knew I always wanted to go there and of course he knew I always wanted that perfect fairy tale proposal. I honestly thought that we were going that date to celebrate the other two events surrounding that day. Well we ordered dinner and the waiter brought out an appetizer saying it was compliments of the chef because the food was going to take longer than expected (this was all planned out in advance of course) and I honestly thought it was a little Disney magic. So we ate that and then dinner when he came back with a silver dome platter. I was seriously excited because I was thinking I was getting a little birthday cake in Disney . So here I am sitting here waiting to see a cake with candles when he pulls off the platter and here is my very own glass slipper with our names and the date on one side and on the other "Will You Marry Me?". Inside the slipper was a ring with a single rose petal in the center and more spread around the slipper. I was bitting my tongue trying not to cry (and let me tell you I was bitting pretty hard). The waiter then said something like I belive the young sir has something to ask and then Matt asked me to Marry him and of course I said yes. It was pretty romantic! After saying yes they brought out these two little white chocolate slippers for dessert and on my plate it said Will You Marry Me in chocolate. I was so excited! Afterwards we went right outside of the castle and sat on the ground to watch wishes.

My DF and I lived in different states until a couple days ago. And he used to come to visit. Well he had been to visit August last year and while we were at the airport dropping him off he pulled me in to the middle of the walk way by security and got on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was great. i couldnt have asked for any better way

A little background ~ DF and I will have been together for 11 years this coming November. (minus a couple of off times that total no more than 6 months) This had been a long time coming and a lot of people had been pretty anxious. I pulled our little engagement story from my blog, here it is...

There was a hopeful plan to get engaged while we were at WDW recently. We flew in Thursday, May 17th and our flight home was Tuesday the 22nd. So, there we were having tons of fun; overfed (ddp) and exhausted (too short of a trip.) We were finally going to Magic Kingdom on Monday, my home away from home, MY MECCA! At this point there has been nothing. A beautiful dinner at Narcoossee's at the Grand Floridian... Nothing. An amazing Segway Tour at Epcot... Nothing. Hmmm. What did I do. Give up. I stopped thinking about it. I had almost forgotten about a silly proposal, heck I was in Disney. I was at the Magic Kingdom - Spectro and Wishes were later in the evening. Life, was (is) pretty good. Besides, Chuck probably forgot the ring (which no, I had not seen yet,) or got cold feet (surprise, surprise) or whatever. All I know was that I was unexpecting. On top of it he had been slightly sick all day (lol, if I only knew!) and blamed it on our really, really late dinner the night before!

Moving along...

We had a wonderful day at MK, at 5pm we watched the Flag Retreat Ceremony and then caught the monorail to the Contemporary for our dinner ressie at Concourse Steakhouse. At this point I think Chuck is dying so I am willing to miss Spectro and Wishes and go back to our room so he can rest. He assures me that he's fine and we head back to MK. Due to some poor transportation and an innocent detour on our part, we don't make it back until ten to eight. I'm freaking out because the parade is in an hour and we haven't gone on any fantasyland rides!! No pan, no small world, no philharmagic! AND we haven't been to Cinderella's Fountain. An often overlooked gem, Cinderella's Fountain is situated behind the Castle and off to the left. The great thing about the fountain is that Cinderella is dressed in rags but from a child's perspective (yes you have to crouch down to really see it!) Cinderella is always a princess, no matter what she is wearing!

We enter into the park and Chuck says that we have time, we could do at least do one thing, so we head up Main Street and walk through the Castle and make our way towards the fountain. For some reason he holds me back... there were some people in front of the fountain and I assumed that he didn't want clutzy me to get in their way. So we wait and when the coast is clear, approach the fountain. I'm crouching down, trying to get the best view; fumbling with my bag to get my camera out and I look over an my dork of a boyfriend is fumbling with pennies and has his eyes closed and is tossing a penny into the fountain. I wondering what on earth he's doing. So I ask... What are you doing??? He said that you make wishes at fountains, but really you should throw the penny over your shoulder. I'm very gullible as any one who knows me knows. Alrighty then - Let's Do It! He hands me a penny. I turn around. I close my eyes. I'm poised to toss my penny. And I make a wish...

What's my big wish... please don't let Chuck be so sick that we can't enjoy Spectro and Wishes! lololol.

I toss that penny in the fountain, open my eyes and Chuck is down on bended in knee, on wet stone, holding a beautiful ring up with two hands. He told me how much he loved me, and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me! And then he asked if I would marry him! I immediately started crying, nodding my head up and down and asking "really? really?" all at the same time!

Beyond that, I kind of went into shock. I know that a kind stranger took pictures with Chuck's camera, I know that people said nice things. And that's it. I didn't really fully grasp it until well into the parade about an hour or so later. :cloud9:

My husband and I were walking through Central Park (NYC) and he asked for my hand in marriage. :flower3: I always liked that park and now it is my most favorite.

Everything began October 2006 when my best friends got engaged (I introduced them to each other) The day Aaron proposed to Nellie, she asked if I would be her maid of honor. Gladly, I accepted and started to diet the next day.

A few months went by and I was losing the extra few pounds with a bunch more to go. I worked (and am still) hard to take off some weight. On December 18th 2006, I had just had the day from .........Not heaven. I had gained weight even though I was true to my diet, I had found out that I would have to continue battling over my fathers estate, and several other not great things happened. With hopes of lightening up my spirits, Larry asked if I wanted to open a early Christmas present. Now Christmas is not my favorite holiday and quite often I just want to get the day over with. So I start looking for a present to give him (as an exchange of early christmas) and was looking for one that I wanted to open early. I chose one for him and he went into the storage room and grabbed the most beautiful present ever. (I guess I didn't get to pick my own) I started to open it and it was a little stuffed bear. - First thought in my head was...great what am I going to use a stuffed animal for, until I saw the zipper in the stomach and he was on a knee right in front of me then it was like a light bulb went on .. I opened the bear and found the box and opened it and he asked if I would marry him. Of course I did a little dance for joy.

My guy probably had something better planned but my brother ruined it. We had gone to Animal Kingdom for Valentines day. My brother called while we were doing the walking tour thing. He had something of a nervous breakdown. We left as it was only proper to go check on my brother.

Had we not left we would of gone over to Epcot for dinner and eaten in Morroco. Although I think his presentation would have been generally the same it would not have ended up happening in our hotel room at Pop Century.

He gave me a gift box from the World of Disney. On top laid a pirate pin. Underneath hidden in a ring box wrapped in tissue paper was a pave mickey ring plus a mickey mouse Diamondique ring. He wanted to get me a real diamond Mickey ring but they just do not make those for sale at the park LOL. He promised to get me a real diamond Mickey ring down the line.

I think we probably have the same ring from world of Disney. That's where I got my promise ring from, and it's a ring with two little mickey heads and pave "diamonds" on the band. It's really pretty, and looks real.

I unfortunately don't have an engagement story to add, although I think I should have one in a few weeks :cool1:

My DFi proposed during our last trip to WDW (his first). He didn't know where he wanted to do it but he carried the ring around for 7 days before doing it 3 days before we were going to be leaving WDW. It was sooooo perfect. I was hoping that he would never propose in front of a big crowd. He proposed at Sunset Pointe at the Poly at night with all of the beautiful lights from GF, MK, Contemporary, and the Poly reflecting off of the lake and Cinderella's Castle in the background. It was so quiet and special. I will never forget it.

When we were 15 Eric had given me a promise ring. It was a 1/4th carat diamond solitaire. I was in love with it but 3 years later I was ready for something a little bigger:goodvibes . We always knew we were going to get married so I began to nag that I wanted an engagement ring..ok I'm a brat and I don't care :upsidedow . Well about 2 weeks after operation get engaged had commenced Eric and I were driving in my car on the way to my house. He pulled out a ring box and I was like "OMG" so i snatched it away from him only to find that it was empty so I'm wondering like *** is this empty ring box doing in your pocket? He dismissed it off as his brother must have put the ring box from his gfs promise ring in his pants i believed it too. lol so we were driving and i was lecturing him about how it wasn't nice to get my hopes up like that and we got to my house and i snatched the ring box away again...looked inside and there was a ring!!! so i closed it and threw it back at him. we got out of the car..he put me in the same exact spot where he asked me to be his girlfriend almost 4 years before and asked me to be his wife :cloud9: . i started crying, said yes, rushed inside to show my mom but she already knew!! And thats how we got engaged:yay:
