As we all know, Disney has instituted Concierge-level service options for DVC guests staying at AKV. If I had to guess, I'd say that Disney will continue this option at their future DVC resorts.

DVC Members are a lifeblood for Disney, pumping in large amounts of dollars at a continuous rate. My proposal is that Disney 'Plus' the Concierge-level service for DVC Members only.

So I propose that Disney do the following for DVC Members staying at the Concierge level.

1. Allow members to book special events at the time that their reservation is confirmed, not at the 180 day point. An example of which would be the Sunset and Sunrise safaris for DVC members staying at AKV at the Concierge level.

2. Allow members to book their dining at the time that their reservation is confirmed.

3. Open up all Grand Gathering events.

4. Create special new events.

Perhaps there are other things that you'd like to see. Feel free to comment on this.

your first one AKL would not like. Unless you are limiting the amount of DVCers.

it could get so booked that really paying guest at AKL couldn't do it. that would be bad for business.

the second one - members use to be able to do. but again accordingly to DVC members did NOT use it.

Walt Disney World could not survive without cash guests, but it would do quite well without DVC members. In fact, it did for about 20 years.

Interesting concept, but I'm not quite sure DVC members will ever qualify for "lifeblood" status. Certainly not to the point where members will be worthy of preferential treatment in every aspect of theme park operations.

It will never happen. For one thing should a member that bought a resale of 50 points have the same clout a member that has thousands of points does.:confused3

I guess you can say DVC provides continuous income for Disney; but when you break it down to individual members, not so much so.

For example a member with a small point contract is certainly not pouring the money into Disney that a yearly concierge guest at the Grand Floridian is.

They have guests that come every year, some stay for a month and get multiple rooms every year and have for years. They are certainly spending more than some DVC members.

There are rooms designated as DVC concierge rooms and there are concierge rooms that are not DVC. I do not think that DVC members would be able to swamp the reservation system and get all of the event reservations.

I think one of the things you want only allow 6 people.

not sure about the other but I think it is less than 20.

there are more than enough concierge DVC rooms to definitely swamp these reservations.

I wouldn't use it; we're not the concierge type, I guess.

I just don't get any jollies out of paying more to be treated "special".

(Technically, it's "specially" but nobody uses adverbs anymore).

I feel special enough just being my plain old DVC self when I'm at Disney...
