ProPaidEmail? Did I really get $200?

OK, I'm very skeptical when I get an e-mail that says I've won something, but I have been participating in ProPaidEmail, so I checked it out. I got to a screen that read:

"An error occured while sending payment:

YOU ARE NOT A MEMBER OF THE PROPAIDEMAIL GOLD GAMES CLUB

Only ProPaidEmail Gold Games Club members can receive their prizes in cash.

If you want to become the Gold Games Club member, please fill out the registration form below. Once you become a member, your prize will be paid directly to your account.

Please note: If you do not apply for the ProPaidEmail Gold Games Club membership, your prize will be returned to the ProPaidEmail account and given to another winner next month.


Please fill out the form below to register and get your money. Once your membership will be confirmed, your prize ($200) will be paid directly to your account."

It costs $8.95 to become a member. What would you do???

Guess none of you are doing this program? I contacted ProPaidEmail, and Ryan sent out a mass e-mail to all members that this is indeed a scam run by someone unaffiliated with ProPaidEmail. Makes me wonder how they knew I'm a member, but that's OK. I'm glad I was too skeptical to fork out the $8.95!

I don't do this program but I did want to drop in and say that I would not pay money to receive a prize.

I'm glad that you followed through and checked it out before you paid out the money. If you're the least bit doubtful it's always best to check things out first - better safe than sorry!
