Proofs?

As some of you may have read, I am having a hard time with my proofs from Disney. I feel that I should get the proofs from the 12 that ended up in my folio. Stephanie is telling me that they are not included.

So my questions are...how many pictures did Intimate Brides walk away with? And were the 12 in the folio included?

I have a feeling this is going to be a long fight....

Wow!!! That's odd!!! I would have thought that if you pre-paid for the proofs, you would get ALL the proofs, not all but the ones in the folio. And did you get the low-res CD of your pics?

Unfortunately, I can't answer your question...but as I'm using Disney Photography for my upcoming wedding, I'm VERY interested in what responses you will get!

I don't quite understand - aren't the proofs just photos - ie so you can look at them and decide which to have printed and enlarged etc? In which case you already have copies of the ones in the album - don't they just give you the rest so effectively you have one of every picture printed up and then you decide which ones to get more copies of...

The proofs should be a copy of every picture taken. If the pics are in my folio I can't put them in frames etc. Being as these are the best of the shots, I want to put them on my desk etc.

My coordinator gave me another lead in case I don't get anywhere with Stephanie.

rosiejo, I see your point...but my original thought was that the photos in the folio would be printed on a higher quality paper and possibly with some "creative" developing (cropping, etc.).

You're right, the proofs would just be photos you can look at to have copied/enlarged and I just figured they would be a "quick print" of all the photos.

That was my thought, anyway...

I'm not sure they are creatively cropped though - I think they just pick the best ones from the proofs and put them in the album... i could be wrong though - and past brides help us out here?

When you planned to purchase your proofs, you are purchasing all the pictures that Disney took of your wedding day. The "proofs" are only 3.5x5 in size. It just so happens that Disney kindly put 12 of the "proofs" in the folio for you. You may take those proofs out and put other proofs in. Disney will not provide you with an extra copy of the "proof" that is already in your folio.

That makes sense...BUT the 12 in the folio came with my package. I agreed to purchase ALL proofs for the extra money. That is why I feel I should have copies of the 12...since the first 12 were included.

Ahhh now I see your argument - and that kinda makes sense, you didn't order the remaining proofs, but all proofs...

I didn't realise they were only 5x3.5 in the album - if that's the case I'm definiteley ordering the add on pack with 40 7x5s and the high res cd - that way i can print my own copies to my heart's content.

LIGrumpyGirl if you don't mind me asking how much did you pay for your proofs? I think the add on I'm looking at is about $500.

AND...it looks like I am getting my extra proofs and some 8x10's for my trouble! I am guessing they didn't like it when I told them I have a chat room full of future Disney brides awaiting the outcome!

I'm a bit confused about the 12 photos etc. - do you get 12 photos then all proofs on a CD or 12 photos and the 12 photos on CD?

Oh honey...I FEEL your pain. We had SUCH a problem with Disney photography...INCLUDING dealing with the proofs. We ended up talking to THREE different people before we got all the proofs.

When they were first sent we received maybe 120 of the 140...we had to go back and mark down the ones we DID NOT receive...Disney was supposed to send them. Never did get all of them. And the ones they sent after people were cut out of and images were cropped out. Horrible.

That is why I HIGHLY suggest (to all of you future brides) use Randy Chapman. I have only heard WONDERFUL things about him!

Oh and we never got our low resolution cd!

The photos were delivered to our hotel. I think they may have been delivered to the room but we had to pick up a package with alcohol in in so we just picked up both.

I believe all the proofs are on the disk...i never checked. They are all on my website.

I have heard so many bad things about Disney's Photography.. You'd think that Disney would be much more careful about who they use as photographers!! I'll be using Randy Chapman so I don't have to worry about it (hopefully). For everyone else though.. I hope Disney starts getting stricter about their photography quality standards!
