Promotion question....anyone?

I have a question about promotions, I received a promotion through the mail, to get 40% off of any resort 7 different times through the year, as long as I book before March 31. I made a reservation for my family and I for the second week of September, which I know is typically the free dining time because I have gotten that before. If I get a promotion code for free dining (which I never had to have one before, I just always said "I want to get the free dining" and they said okay) after my March 31st deadline for my 40% off resort, can I use both, or will I have to give one up for the other? Does that make any sense? LOL!

I love planning these things, and it was much easier to do for two than five, I hope I can get the best price, and if anyone can tell me an answer I would be thankful. I have talked to two different cast members, and got different answers.

Thanks again.:flower3:

Hi! :goodvibes If free dining is offered you have to pay rack rate for your room, which means you would have to choose between the 40% off discount or the free DDP!

I've heard of people getting those codes in the mail. Do you have to sign up for any certain mailing list to get those?

Thanks in advance!!!:goodvibes

Awwwwwww.... shucks!! Thanks for such a quick response.

You are welcome! :goodvibes

You would have to do the math to decide which one is best, if free DDP is offered (I am hoping because while we did bounceback, my sis and her family will come down at the same time... here is some magic for everyone wanting it)!:wizard:

I know that the DDP is nearly $40.00 per day (adult prices), so depending on the number in your family... the free DDP might be a better deal (even with having to pay the gratuity).

Whatever plan you have when you go... have a ball! :goodvibes

the codes in the mail are sent to folks that have stayed before and the pattern to get them is known only to Disney.

Not necessarily people who've stayed before - i have stayed on-site only once before, in 1989, and it was mom and dad's reservation! But I got a pin code via email in January.

The promotion code I recieved was sent to me in my name, all the vacations we have booked were in my husband's name. The only thing I have done in my name was request a vacation planning dvd. So it may have been sent to me from that mailing list. Just a possiblity.........

We went to WDW for the first time in 2007, however, we received a card (soon after the horrific Septemebr 11th incidents) with a code and we had never been to WDW, signed up nor inquired about any WDW vacation, been members online, or anything.

We have not received any after that initial code postcard, even though we have since received quotes, travel DVD's, became members of the movie reward club, been to WDW, bought from Disneyshopping online many times, became a Disney Visa cardmember, and so on. We have gave permission for email and postal mail contacts, and have joined various (official) Disney email groups. Still no codes!:confused3

I am not sure what their method is (for choosing who gets codes)! But I do know that having stayed before is not the only way, nor is it the "sure-fire" way! :)
