Prom ideas?

i posted a thread about the decision between disney and prom and i have finally decided to stay at home and go to my prom. Its just too big to miss! and now i need help on deciding a dress style and colour. . im quite pale but i tan easily so by the summer i will be quite tanned (if not ill be having a spray tan anyway) , im quite thin so i also want something that will make me look a little bigger with more curves. i want a long dress to the floor and i have dark brown hair with dark brown eyes. i need help with the style and colour, im going shopping for it tomorrow so what dress type do you think would suit me ...pics will def help please!! xx

yay! your going to your prom! i dont know anything about fashion matching skin tone and hair and blah blah blah, but i like long, low cut, sparkley, pink dresses. i think they are sooooo pretty!

That might be too much, though. Gold usually goes nice with a brunette. I would not suggest going with a dark blue dress, but turquoise (sp?) may look nice. I would personally look for a gold dress, or as VolleyballQt07 said, a pink dress.

Honestly, you're not going to know until you try it on.

A word of advice: Don't go to the dress section and automatically exclude dresses.

When I went to look for my prom dress last year, I had no idea what I wanted, I knew what I didn't want and to be honest all the dresses I "didn't want" or didn't like are the ones that looked the best on me.

As fun as it is to look for dresses online the most fun thing about the whole prom dress buying experience is dedicating time to going around to a bunch of dress shops and trying on dresses.

Last year I found a good dress in the first 10 minutes of shopping.. perfect length, perfect shape, perfect color.. even my hair fell into place.. lol This year I get to pick an expensive dress ^__^ which will be fun

And kim, my friend went through them to get her winter ball dress. It was a red strapless sweetheart top dress. They were fantastic. They dyed her shoes and everything.

Thanks guys, i went shopping today and fell in love with the first dress i tried on!! i tried on a few other dresses but still love the first, still not sure if i should get pink or a darkish red (called wine) the red gives me a really good colour, the best part about the dress is that the designer will take note of my school to make sure she doesnt sell that design to anyone else, and thats the only shop she owns so thats another worry off my mind!! the dress is made to measure and there is also a tiara to match so im really happy at the moment! thanks for all the help, though ill probably need even more help soon xx
