Hi there!

Has anyone bought/shopped for a prom dress while in the Orlando area? What stores can we take a look in? We usually take a trip to the Florida Mall but I can't recall any nice dress shops in there.

My DD tells me last night that everyone already has already bought and posted the dresses. We thought a friend of ours could be convinced to make DD's dress but it doesn't look like that will happen now.

What about places in the Toronto area? Any hidden gems?

Thanks!

David's Bridal is here now, they usually have some pretty good deals.

Both of my girls got their prom dresses at JC Penney at The Loop. They were very pretty and really good prices.

While I'm game to shop in any store including JC Penny, my DD won't even look. She will probably want a dress shop or a high end department store like Saks. Unfortunately for my wallet, we live in an area where many girls get custom gowns and the ones that purchase ready made spend upwards of $500. We usually make a trip to the Loop so maybe I can talk her into looking in some stores that she normally wouldn't.

I second Davids. My daughter loved the personal attention and the salesperson was really good at figuring out what would be flattering to her figure. I know it isnt high end per say but there are some very pricey gowns and so totally inexpensive ones too. I think we paid 169 CND (thress years ago though)which I thought was cheap compared to what some of the other girls were buying. We had looked at other places but Davids had so many bridesmaid dresses in different styles it was great to see how certain styles either worked or didnt an then you can go from there.

Macy's usually has a good selection.

I agree! We bought my daughters dress last March Break at the Macy's at Mall at Millenia. We will be doing the same this March Break for our second daughter. They also give an additional 10%discount for out of country visitors! There were so many beautiful prom/grad dresses at the dept store, and they were all on sale too!
