Project Runway?

I love this show! I discovered it one sleepless night when I was pregnant. I didn't get to watch last night's episode, so I'll have to catch it later this week. I did see that Austin got booted, and Wendy stayed. Tragedy.

I thought Austin handled the decision with more dignity than I could have even imagined. He truly rose above the situation and was not diminished in any way.

No, he didn't listen to the instructions again. But I think if his model had stood with one leg exposed, hand on hip, and had more attitude, his design would have been seen differently. That tiny sparkly skirt underneath just might have given his dress an edge. But that would have meant they would have booted Kara Saun or Jay....why couldn't Wendy just lose like she should have!!!

You can tell the judges don't care for Wendy. Didn't you LOVE Michael Kors comment about her dyed-to-match orange shoes??? What was she thinking???

I don't know if I would have liked Kara's outfit better without the pants. I think it would have flowed better, though. This was one of the few designs of Kara's that I didn't care for personally. I just don't like those colors and that threw me a bit. I just don't do orange and similar colors...so imagine how I felt about Wendy's dress!

I know this opinion won't be popular, but sometimes I feel bad for Wendy. I think the reason why she is acting the way she is is because she is feeling ostricized by the rest of the gang.

I actually liked her dress the best. I love orange though, so that may be why.

I was dissapointed in Kara this week. I don't like how she brought herself down to Wendy's level. If Wendy took the fabric she was using, why not say "hey Wendy, I had already picked that roll out" instead of saying it behind her back and making it out as though Wendy were sabbotaging her.

And another thing, in that episode where Kevin was team leader, everyone was dissing him behind his back, but when they were in front of the judges they didn't say anything. Wendy was the only one who told the truth of how she was feeling.

Yeah I think Wendy is malicious, and she's going to hear about it next week. I'm pretty sure she's the one who walks off. But I have to say, everyone around her that complains about her looks just as petty.

And Wendy was right about something, if they are so confident in their work, then why even worry about her?

I still want Kara to win though.

I love this show! I can't believe that Wendy stayed over Austin. I like all his dresses. I liked what he said about being true to himself and not changing his designs to make others happy. Good for him, I think he'll make it anyway. I wouldn't be surprised to see Austin's Prom Line out next spring. He would make such pretty dresses for special occasions like Prom or Weddings.

I was disappointed that Wendy won, but not surprised. It is a reality TV show afterall, and where would the drama be if 3 people who were friendly & nice made it to Fashion Week to compete. No drama = bad reality TV. I think Wendy was very lucky to have made it as far as she did, but I don't see her winning. I really just wanted to slap her when she made the comment along the lines of "I hope I win so I can look back and see Kara Saun in my rear view mirror". Kara Saun is the best designer on the show, and has always been friendly to everyone - especially when she gave Wendy that MUCH needed makeover. Wendy is very desperate indeed.

I love Austin, and I'm sure we will all see him in the future. I am glad he "doesn't listen". He wants women to look and feel glamorous, and so he makes glamorous clothes. It's a nice breath of fresh air from the skanky fashion trends that pop up and fizzle out in 5 minutes. Beautiful & Classic clothes are always in style.

My vote is for Kara Saun. I love Jay, but I think he is a little too edgy to be chosen the winner.

I think Kara will win. Wendy, as dowdy as we may think she is, does produce extremely wearable clothes.

Austin designs clothes to make a woman feel beautiful, and if he ever has a line out, I will be a loyal customer.

Wendy probably won't be around long.

Yes, I was yelling at the t.v. last night!!! :rotfl:

I also like Kara Saun's outfit - but I had to agree with one of the judges - the pants were WAY too baggy! if they were slimmer/more tapered a bit - then they would work.

but her model did look great.

My fav moment last night? After Wendy was announced "in"...she gave Austin a hug...and that hug lasted about 3 minutes longer then it should have...heheh. Austin was trying to get her OFF him...too funny!

Wendy was hanging on to Austin like white on rice. He couldn't wait to get her off of him. Too funny!

Austin designs the kind of dresses that I like to buy. They are classic and beautiful, and so well-fitted! I am amazed that there are people out there that still sew like that! I learned to sew well and to do tailoring, so I have been doing it all my life. But I don't have the creativity and artistic talents that the designers have.

When Wendy made the rear view mirror comment, that was so mean-spirited. I wonder if they edit the show to make us hate her even more. And I wonder what she thinks if/when she sees herself in the show and the way she comes across. She may be very open and honest, but most people still have some sort of boundaries or filter. She also was enjoying watching the other designers stress out, because she felt a sense of revenge!! She just seems so nasty!

Jay gets a little catty and biting with his comments about people, too, but somehow, he doesn't appear spiteful or malicious. Maybe it's because he doesn't have the sour look on his face all the time....

I watched the previous episode last night, too, just to see Wendy pacing in front of the building, while the rest were upstairs watching her and commenting...that was so funny!

Well, I guess they did a good job of sucking me in emotionally, and getting me hooked on the show!! I can't WAIT for next week!

I was so bummed last night! I can't believe that evil stepsister lasted this long. That looked like a maternity dress last night! (Not that there's anything wrong with maternity dresses, just not what I think they were going for)

I am a huge fan of Austin's! I loved his style, and I really respected his technical abilities. Did you see how well-constructed his pieces were?!?

I will definitely check up on him from time to time. I'm sure he'll go very far!

I also thought the top of her dress flared out like a maternity top, which isn't exactly the cutting edge of fashion!

I wonder if Austin has his own web site yet....

Who wendy's?

Actually..these long tank tops/tunic styles are very "in" right now.

Wendy's orange top was open in the back, so on the model it flared out around her waist making her look very wide and pregnant. What may be popular right now isn't really the issue, since they are supposed to be creating something new. But it wouldn't be the first time on this show that someone was just copying what was already out there!

I am wondering if that host guy who gives them their instructions each time is regretting giving Wendy any advice!

I can't believe I forgot to watch this week!!! :( Okay, I think I was watching American Idol, but still..... I love Project Runway! Kara Saun is my favorite!! She can design for me anytime!! I also like most of Austin's stuff. But Wendy?? Not crazy about her. When does the repeat come on?

Okay, I found it. Sunday at 6 central. Aaaargh! I won't be home then either and no tivo for me. Oh well. I'll have to wait and watch the finale.

I missed this episode too. I can't believe Austin was out! Terrible...a travesty!

Did anyone else catch Jay's comment to Wendy at the end of the Postal episode? It was so appropriate...he said she was a cockroach that they couldn't kill, and Wendy just laughed.

Kara Saun will likely win, but I am rooting for Jay. He's my favorite!

I've finally caught up with my episodes and can subscribe to this thread!

PR is by far one of my favorite reality shows on tv. I have little style and no designing skills, so I'm in awe of what these cats can do.

I adore Kara Saun...once she did that wedding dress, I was head over heels in love with her work. Jay's stuff is fun and eclectic and he's so funny to watch.

Austin is very couture and over the top, as several of them have said, but his stuff is gorgeous and girly, which I like.

Wendy (I had hoped  ) would have been kicked off long ago, but I really did like her orange outfit this past time. It was at the top of my list. I'd wear that top in an instant!

Can't wait for the finale!

I love PR! I'm hoping Kara Suan takes the WIN but i've come to love Jay. His designes are great and he's just funny. I loved that cockroach crack at Wendy that is totally something i would have said to her face! So for Wendy no love from me. Kara or Jay. I too sure hated to see Austin go and would buy his line anytime!

ITA--by the time you can buy it at Gap.com it should be almost totally off a designer's radar!
