I finally completed a project I've been working on to Geotag each image in my Disney galleries (actually, ALL my galleries, but the Disney ones are the relevant ones for these boards!). This is some cool stuff!
What it means is: As you go through my galleries, and select a photo to view, you will see under the photo title a link called "view map". If you click on the link, you will be taken to a satellite/street map and the precise location where I was standing to take the photo will be thumbtacked on the map. The photo will be available in a thumbnail photo above the tack, the map can be zoomed in and out, and you can switch from street map to satellite overhead view.
Any time you go to the map for a particular photo, if you zoom out on the map a few notches, you'll see other thumbtacks for photos taken nearby...clicking on any thumbtack will bring up a thumbnail of the image, and the link to go back to the full-size image.
I hope it will be fun...and useful for people who ask me often where I took a particular photo, or for people just browsing for photo ideas who want to know where to stand to get a particular view.
There are still a handful of safari animal shots and forest walk animals I haven't geotagged yet - I'm still getting to those, but I figure the location is much less important on those because everyone will be able to find the tiger enclosure or the gorilla enclosure! All of my other galleries, including the 4 parks and the resort hotels, have been geotagged.
So please feel free to check out the galleries, and play with a few of the links to see how it works. I think it's pretty cool and fun and I've been playing with it since I finished - and I even know where I was when I took the pics! To go directly to the Disney galleries, click this link:
