Program to create a slide show

I'm just back from my trip and have sooo many fantastic pictures. I'd like to make a slide show where I can vary the speed of the pics and set to music and insert captions. I made one a long time ago but don't remember what program I used. Can anyone recommend one, please?

If you are on a windows machine using XP or Vista you already have the software. Look for Movie Maker in your program files. As a hint, if your on XP,google it and find the free version 2 and DL and use it. Very user friendly

I use ProShow Gold for slide shows. An example of one of my shows is at:

The show is highly compressed to fit on the web, a version created for a HDTV would have a lot more detail (and a much greater file size).
