professional portraits at WDW

Does anyone know if Disney has available a photographer to take photos of families, but not like with a character.
I guess I mean professional portraits like at one of the beach areas or on a porch at the Beach Club.

I think Disney does have a professional photographer that you can book. But I was not able to find anything when I just searched the Disney site. I did find information about wedding photography...

I used the the Disney photo. last March and we got some shots of my family (1st time family has been together for pictures) It is the same as the wedding photo. I would give you the number to call but my mom just took the pictures tonight to place the order.

Hey...my first post!

We're going to WDW for the first time in about 15 years this Nov.

We plan to you the photopass photographers in the park -

Do they only work with characters?
To what degree will they work with my family (4) to allow a few poses before moving on?
Generally, how prevalent are they throughout the parks?

I'm sure the answers have been posted here before - I'm browsing and digesting as much as I can....

we had this done in May. I have been wanting to post some of my pics since we got them back. Unfortunately my only scanner is at work and we've been crazy busy.

Anyway what you do to schedule a sitting is call Dean at Disney Photographic services 407-827-5099. The cost is $275 for an hour. You get a great folio that previews 12 pictures and you get to keep the proofs! We had Amy, she was awesome!!! She took 121 photos of us. We started in the Rose garden, then moved to down my the waterfall (where the swan boats used to be) we then went to where storytime with Belle is, then we went to the wishing well, then to the sword and the stone, to the fountain behind Cinderellas Castle, then to liberty square.

We were lucky to have her. Our freinds had their family portrait taken the same morning and their photographer only spent 20 mins. with them. Amy said that she follows the temperment of the kids, if they are willing she spends time. Our kids were great. They smiled and behaved the whole hour. I highly recommend you do this. You may choose any location in WDW that you want. We chose MK of course. We are already talking about the next family portait in 2008. EPCOT for us this time!

As a side note, if you bring picture with you, there is an artist in the beach club lobby that will do a charcoal picture for you. You can also sit for her to do the drawing. They were very beautiful.

We had this done in 2002. It was worth every penny. I've been considering having it done this trip as well. We did ours at the MK. You have your choice from any theme park or WDW resort.

I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I knew that Disney did photography and everything for weddings---but I never thought about hiring them for family portraits, and it's like a lightbulb just went on! We took our own family portraits with my digital camera when we were down as a family in November 2003, in Epcot....but now that I think about it, I'd definitely like to hire a photographer to get portraits done!

I’m not against any of your plans. I perfectly understand that you only want the perfect family portrait. But considering that you want a PORTRAIT I suppose you really need someone who knows his stuff.

If you think that photographers from WDW are the considering the testimonials of their customers, then go for it. If you are somehow hesitant to do it, then it means that something must be more practical and worth the entire wait.

How about if you take the picture of your family on your desired angle, context and event? Upload it in your computer then send it to a niche of artists who can convert it into a family portrait that everyone would really get envious whenever they see it.
