Professional photos/sketches in the World?

Hi everyone,

My son just turned 4 on Monday, and DD will turn 1 on the 17th, and instead of going to the mall and doing their annual portraits, I was thinking of getting something done at WDW. We head down on Sunday. I seem to recall there is a professional photographer onsite? Does anyone know how much they charge? Also, what about artists that do caricatures or sketches? I know they have them in Disneyland in New Orleans Square, but where in WDW?

Prof photographer is $275 for a 1 hour session,plus whatever portraits you order.

There is a caricature artist in the WL lobby right by the gift shop and the game room. It would be very easy to walk over from VWL after a day at the parks. That way you wouldn't even have to waste any park time.

Hi Joy,

There are artist who "set up shop" in the lobby of the Grand Floridian who have done great sketches of our girls. The sketches are done in charcoal or pastels. The price for one child was $75 (plus tip). They are located in the back of the lobby as you would head to where they serve tea or to the cafe (sorry, I can't remember the names). We were very happy with them!

Also, one of our favorite things is to have the silouhettes (spelling??) done in the Magic Kingdom. They are cheap and make great gifts for grandparents.

There is also a lady, named Echo (I think), who is setup in the Beach Club lobby, who does portrait paintings. The work I've seen of hers is very good. We may use her for our son when we go later this month.

Echo is the lady in the Beach Club and she does do wonderful work. She did a portrait of my 3 kids a couple of years ago. She can work from a picture or they can sit for it. I will say that I noticed her prices had gone up considerably between the time we had it done and the last year when we went back (about 11 months between visits.) Different artists will charge different prices so you may want to visit a few different resorts before making a final decision.
