Leaving in less than two weeks :cool1: and had a quick thought. Does anyone know how much the photos are that are taken in the parks? We're always being asked if we want one, but so far have not done it. What's been your experience?

Is it correct that you can have photos taken (in various places around the park), and that you go to a particular shop to view? (I think the shop is on Main St.?) And you are not obligated to buy unless you like the shot? I think someone also said that the photographer will also take a shot or two with your own camera if you ask?

I am the family photographer, so we few pictures with all 4 of us. It would be nice to get some professional shots (though these would add up fast!) as well as some on my own camera.

In Orlando, I've asked them if they would take a photo using my own camera and they've always done so with a smile. No trying to sell me on their photos. However, their photography skills vary from person to person and their unfamiliarity with your camera can also affect the quality of your photo....so just be warned that the photo they take with your camera may not be up to snuff. LOL Example, we had a photo taken at Animal Kingdom by the Tree of Life by one of the Disney photographers with my camera...for some reason, all of our feet were cut off - right at the ankles so it looks weird .. if you're gonna cut us off, cut us at the thigh - and the tree was so off to the side, the photo looked lopsided.

But the Disney photog who took our photo in front of the castle did a fantastic job of framing the camera.

Just so you know. :)

Oh, I so know what you mean! Drives me crazy when I do pass my camera to someone so I can get in a photo, and there's always something off. Usually it's that they don't think to adjust the zoom, so it looks like we were very far away. Or they zoom too much and we have two half-faces on either side of the kids. (Why did I bother getting in this shot?) Or there's some other object in the picture that detracts from the scene. So now I try to adjust the camera how I want it before I hand it over, and just hope for the best.

The glass half-full side of me says that my annoyance is a sign that I'm getting better at photography myself, though! Heh.

hahah.... getting OT for a bit but my brother did a number on a photo of myself and Aladdin. I got the photo and nearly died laughing while trying to kill him. There he was, Aladdin in all his cuteness and there I was...well, half of me...and no, not the top half, not even the bottom half....the west side of me. He somehow bisected me and it was his own camera!!!! <sigh> I think I should frame that photo.

What I want to know if when DL will start the photopass system or if they ever will.

Do they have PhotoPass at DL?

When my sister and I were at WDW in May we used the Photopass a ton. At the end of the week we were able to buy a CD with all the pictures on it and you have the right to print the pictures from the disk. It cost $99, which seems like a deal when the individual prints are $12.95. We had 30 pictures on ours, but I believe you could have up to 300 pictures on your CD. :thumbsup2

Alex2kmommy is right on the money.. Let them flash away. BUT do have them photo you with your camera. We've only bought "1" pic they took. It's digital(no film wasted) About $10.00 or $15.00. I think. :goodvibes

All pictures taken at DL are viewed at the kodak store on Main Street and in CA at the Greetings store. My advise in DL is to pick a non popular time to visit the shop. At times the lines are VERY long and some times the staff is a bit slow! My advise on the pics are to always have them take your pic it does not cost anything and then have them do the follow up freebie on your own camera! They are always nice about that. Also the BEST time to take pictures are on the EE days. When we were there the park seemed like our famlies private play land. Yes the alarm clock was awful in the am to get up for but well worth it for the picture opps alone! Lastly don't forget there are hundreds of other families around who are happy to take your family picture so that all of you are in the photo! Just remember to ask! :sunny:

They don't have this at DL, though I don't know why. Seems like a great idea!

And closing time is definitely a popular time. Everytime I've walked by at closing the line has been looong.

So when would be a good time to view your photos? Would afternoon be good or bad? Or maybe late morning? (Don't want to waste time first thing in the morning when you could be on the rides!) :)
