Professional family beach photos?

Just curious if anyone here has ever had them done while on vacation in Florida. I love the look of them, but I have no idea how to go about setting them up or what prices are. I don't want to put my poor husband into cardiac arrest, considering what we're already paying for this trip! I think it would be a great way to commemorate our first big family vacation. We're planning to take one day off from the parks to go to a beach (haven't decided between Cocoa or St. Pete's yet).

This isn't quite the same that you're talking about but we had Disney Photographic Services take our family portraits on the grounds of the Polynesian resort. There is a beach there and the photos turned out great. I shared some of the photos and price info here if you're interested:

Disney4us2002- thank you so much for sharing those photos. Wow- you have some beautiful kids! I was impressed with the price too. I would definitely do that- what a treasure those must be to you.

I was planning on having my two daughters (4 and 6) in long white sundresses, and maybe something similar for me, and a white button down shirt with khaki shorts for my husband. I can see it in my mind's eye...now I just need a photographer!

Emer95, I'm not familiar with photographers but I am the beaches and I would imagine the gulf coast would make for beautiful pictures with the blue water and WHITE sand beaches, but if you are imagining wild dunes in your pictures then you will definitely have to goto the Atlantic side as there are not many dunes on the gulf. The national seashore near KSC is beautiful.

I live in Charleston and the family beach pictures are HIGHLY popular here. I have friends that have gotten them done locally for $50 sitting fee per family and then you bought your pictures individually at a later date...pictures ran about $20.00 a sheet or so, but were cheaper in packages. Pretty wide range in prices, but average my friends have spent about $300.00 on pictures. Not sure how you would go about picking up photo's if you are out of state, but I would imagine with digital photography you would be able to find a photographer that will allow you to view your pictures online so you can choose which to purchase.
