This is my first time here because I have a question about production marks. I just bought my first peice of WDCC- FANTASIA FLIGHT OF FANCY CUPID

What does the Production Mark mean? I have a Clef on this peice...

Thanks

Welcome to the boards!

The mark on the WDCC piece indicates what year the item is from. I don't know off the top of my head what year the piece you mentioned is from. You might want to check the Disney art classics web site, I beleive it is www.disneyartclassics.com.

Some companies keep the same mark, but change the color. Beleek does this.

I hope this is the first of many pieces for your - and the joy of collecting!

The production mark denotes the year that the sculpture was manufactured.

The production marks commemorate Disney animated shorts and movies. Here is the list of marks and films:

1992 - steamboat wheel (Steamboat Willie)
1993 - treble clef (Silly Symphonies)
1994 - dancing flower (Flowers and Trees)
1995 - trowel (Three Little Pigs)
1996 - sailor's hat (Wise Little Hen)
1997 - music stand (The Band Concert)
1998 - pick axe (Snow White)
1999 - sorcerer's hat (Fantasia)
2000 - feather (Dumbo)
2001 - butterfly (Bambi)
2002 - sombrero (Saludos Amigos)
2003 - harp (Fun and Fancy Free)
