We bought 40 resale points at AKV last year in October and we had to get the purchaser closing documents notorized which lead to a huge delay as we live in France and had to wait 3 weeks for an appointment at the Us consulate.

We are currently buying 115 points at VGC and the closing documents have just arrived. From reading them it seems we are just supposed to sign them and return them. Has anyone experienced this or is it normal to get the purchaser closing documents notarised?

There is another thread below about this. I can't post the link from my phone...the post is called closing document question.

I bought direct at both VGC and Aulani. I'm married but bought as separate property for estate purposes. There was only one docent that had to be notarized. It was the document my DH signed acknowledging that this was separate property.

It sounds like both of your purchases are resale and I don't know if there are different rules.

I just received closing documents (resale) and not only do I not have to have them notarized, I don't have to get a witness, and there is not an indictaion to even put the date! I'm sure I had to have a witness when I purchased my other 2 contracts (resale).
