Problems with Camcorder

Hey,
Has anyone ever had problems with thier camcorders. When we visited last August our Camcorder kept shutting off due to the humidity. When we got it home, it still thinks it's in Florida. It will work but only after I remove the battery and tape a few times.
We will be visiting in May 2005 and am really worried about getting my video shots.

We had that problem too every time we visited disney, our camcorder was a panasonic, and they are the worst because tthey have something called dew detection that shuts the camera down, so it is basically NOT usable in high humidity areas, so we sold ours on ebay, and purchased a sony and it works FINE.

We went to WDW Sept 2003 & within an hour of being at the park on day one (we arrived about 2pm) our Sony camcorder started flashing a picture of a water drop and shut down. It never worked after that, wouldn't power up or anything. We had to pry open the door just to get the tape out. We ended up selling it on Ebay for about $50.00 (we explained it didn't work of course).

Ours is a Sony, It will work, if you basically fool it by taking the tape out and the battery off, sometimes several times.

What camera is the best???
