I have been trying to get some package rates for August and it keeps telling me check in date error and stopping at the section where you get the list of prices for each resort! Anyone else experiencing problems or is it my computer!

Hi-

I have consistently had problems with the Disney site. I've been on the site regularly over the past 18 months. For a long time, the system could not pull up St. Louis as a departure if I tried to price out a package including air. Then when the STL glitch got fixed, for a while it could not opt for American Airlines. I've had it give me the date error message last week too. My mom also commented to me as we were both on the site in different states that she had been having trouble with the site too. We joked around that everyone on spring break must be surfing the site in the parks and hotels!

This past Friday I was trying to view the park calendars for September to organize a park game plan so I could then do some ADRs. I either kept getting 'server too busy' or the individual day would come up with incorrect information (For example, Epcot with no illuminations or MK with no parades or fireworks).

The site has so much depth of information it must be a nightmare to operate, but I do get frustrated and don't necessarily trust the site.

I have had that problem also. It usually fixes itself for me. It just a little longer trying to go through the research process.

I had problems with it automatically going back to the default setting for date, then I'd go nuts. Last night I had a rude CM tell me that even though the website shows availability it's not right (huh) and wouldn't let you book if the room is in fact not available. I think they don't know which way is up. I called back and was able to book what I wanted with another cast member.

rcraw - The website might show availabiity that isn't really there, then not let you book. (Not that a CM should have been rude about it) It's just one more joy of a really disfunctional website.

Call Disney directly. In spite of the occasional problem CM, most of them are happy to answer all of your questions. If you get someone rude, feel free to call back and get someone better. Of all the ways I've booked, online through Disney has always been the most troublesome later and I won't do it again.

Yeah, that CM was a real ray of sunshine last night. Luckily I had enough "Disney sense" to call back and get what I wanted from another CM, who was appalled by the rudeness when I mentioned it. You would think I wanted her to do something like comp me the room or something. She also didn't let me finish my explanation of what I wanted before telling me that all that was available was MK view. I had one a few weeks back tell me that my package couldn't be converted to a room only, if I wanted room only there was no availability. I called back and another CM said it could be done, it just took a few more keystrokes on the keyboard to do it. That first one offered to cancel it when I explained my concern that DH's schedule wasn't posted yet and I didn't want to forfeit money by having to change/cancel within 45 days.

The website only seems to work with the following Browsers:
Internet Explorer
Safari
Firefox running on Mac OS X

If you are running Firefox on windows it will not work very well, if at all.

This is just my experience.
